The part number is referenced to #7 on the illustration, I don't think these are the right parts. Check out #7 on the photo

That may make sense, no sign of tab in illustration. Maybe that is exactly what it is, especially if tabs are pre-assembled to part before car assembly. Although based on the area we are talking about I would think it would be part # 8 or 9. The tab is definitely
mounted to the lower curved piece not the upper straight.

it's not just the tab that comes with these part numbers...maybe they have to take the tab off, don't know

Let us know if that was in fact the parts and the fix. Looking forward to the results

Those numbers, judging by the price they are for the upper window seal retainers #7 left & right. You need #8 1/2.?? Good luck.

Actually, looking at the figure, you need #9 since 6 and 8 are the rubber seals

But #9 is the rear metal retainer for #8 rubber window seal. Ok, #10 which mounts over #8 into #9 which keeps from ripping #1

Ok, since I posted the above earlier this week, today, as I was putting up the top, the passenger side pinched!!! No damage, and before I fastened the top to the windshield, i gently pulled rearward on the top fabric behind the pinch and it easily released. So, I'll put up the top gingerly from now on.

That sucks. Are you sure there is a tab on the passenger side & that it is not tearing the fabric. Yours is the first with tabs that I know of to pinch. (lucky you) I did notice the rubber pads mounted on the trung lid press FIRMLY on the top in a prime spot to possibly encorage the top to pinch when raised. My top is down day & night. Its only up for baths & rain. The slippery nylon is making mine pinch free even with the torn liner. If it continues Pm me with your mailing address & i'll make you one to see if it stops.

Yes, there are tabs and they are black. I'll keep a close watch and thanks for the offer!

I was at the dealer yesterday and they ordered #17 on this diagram. You can see it looks like the correct part with possibly the tab on the top. When it comes in, he'll call me. If it is the right part, I'll post part numbers.

You may need a slightly longer screw too.

So this is what it looks like in a pinch. Happened this AM when I put the top up to go into work. It didn't rip but now it looks loose.
