Welcome to the Forum Wileyeco and the world of Solstice and Sky knowledge. You'll get way more information about these great cars from the owners and the supporting dealers here than most shops know.

You'll see as you put the top up that the flaps raise and the tops upright frames go into those pockets that are created when the flaps raise.

Put the top up and watch what happens. They are there for the top when it's up. If we're talking about the same panels that is.

Look behind your headrest when the top is up, the frame of the top goes through the tulip panel at that site. The panels raise out of the way to provide clearance for the frame.

You are all wrong we have discussed this before, they are little tiny AIR BRAKES, they help slow the car down when you go really really fast.

As a secondary function I thought and only functional as the car spins around and is going backwards.

There ya go-need a mod that when you shift from 3rd to 2nd they flip up, and stay up until gears are changed again, or fully stopped - non-functional of course with the top in it's locked and loaded non-stowed position. DBG can add some red leds for the back side of 'em too.

Sorry lil goat, my bad. At first I thought they were part of my ejection seats. Then I got the hairbrained idea that they had something to do with the top. Thanks for clearing that up for me. You must be a genius for figuring that one out!

So let me get this right. If you install the RMR "style bar", You'll loose the "AIR BRAKES"?

Are you guys talking about the optional terret flaps? The ones where the paintball guns are attached to which automatically aim at cars in traffic that annoy you?

While we are thinking about strange parts of the car, Can someone show me an example of a person stuck in the trunk and explain how they got there to validate a reason for the release handle?

Not exactly. I have to manualy take them off to put the top up and put them back on when down. Only difference other than that is they don't spring back down as they slow you down.

Just a word of caution, who at the dealership doesn't know what thoe are? If it's a salesman, that's no surprise! (No offense, Small Dealer! )

If the Service techs don't know, get the ____ out of there and find a new dealer FAST!

Yes you lose some of the functionality with the RMR bar, but you gain a place for your pet Condor to ride, so when you need to slow down you just poke him and he spreads his wings and you slow down.
