The first high flo I got was from WERKS great for awhile but then had a total Melt down and that's all I wanna say,but Yeah I agree with BEECEE, my solo cat is awsome, also get the shorty headers if you can they go SWEET with each other! "GO SOLO and NEVER FOLLOW"
Solo Performance Hi Flow Cat all the way with Solo Performance Mach Shorty. Problem-free driving right from the install about 9,000 Km ago. Love the sound and the increased performance. Never had a back-fire. It just sounds mean.
Solo Performance people also installed my DDM Race Backbone Brace and would not accept any payment for the install. Solo Performance is a great company with great people and great products. The stainless steel CAT and exhaust pipes and muffler still look brand new. If you want the best - GO SOLO!
Ah... not to beat a dead horse but SOLO all the way... cat with mach no problems on install still sounds and runs great after 3000 miles. craftsmanship is awesome, you wont be disapointed.
Had the Solo cat. It is a quality piece and fit was perfect. Install was very easy, but the removal of the stocker was a pain. I had to leave it on the last car, but plan on getting a new one next year before I even drive it all that much.
I have had Solo's Mach exhaust and Solo Hi-Flow Cat for a little over two years now. Jeff put a lot of development time and effort into the Hi-Flow Cat and did not release the production unit to his customers until he was satisfied with the quality and performance of his product.
The Cat has a healthy sound when you floor it (not too loud) and it is about the same noise level as the stock Cat during cruise conditions, perhaps a wee bit louder then stock.
I have not had any problems with mine since I installed it a little over two years ago. If your looking for an outstanding and reliable product, go Solo.
I have a FocuzTech high flow cat, because it mates perfectly with my FocuzTech tri-y header. The rest of the exhaust is Solo, and they had to modify it to hook up with my cat pipe.
I'm looking at getting the DDM header and their hi flow cat too, as it seems to match up. That is of course when they get to building them again.:yesnod::thumbs:
The DDMWorks offered high flow cat is a piece of equipment that just does not look like it is aftermarket at all- beautifullly machined flanges and a perfect fitment.
I am sure that you cannot go wrong with either.
(Have had mine on for almost 18 months ~ 31,000 mi.)
can anyone tell me ,on installing the solo cat,is it a direct bolt on or do you have to use the factory doughnut gasket from the old cat? i understand this is what you have to do if you buy one from clearimage.
I am a GXP 2009 owner, i'm from Mexico and sorry about my english, i'll try to do my best.
then... Can anybody please tell me which is the difference between these "hi-flow cats" ?:
1.- SOLO Built Hi-Flow Cat Down-pipe for Mitsu to Sol/SKY - EDP-SSB = $299 (i saw this on dejon's page)
2.- SOLO'S GXP 'CATALYTIC CONVERTER' 2.0 GXP = $375 (this one from Solo's page)
I think those are the same hi-flow cats, right ?
Is there any difference between these hi flow cats except for the price ?
one more thing... Does the "Check engine light" will turns on ?
thanks in advance guys =)
I do not think so.
The word Mitsu implies it is for a Mitsubishi turbo, like the 16g.
Our cars has the Bog-warner K04 turbo.
Best to send Jeff at Solo an PM and have them give you an answer.
I think DDM has since changed their supplier. They provided me a Solo Cat under warranty. Not quite as pretty, but seems to hold up better. Both are great companies to work with.
