I am a firm believer in pretty much any AMSOIL oil product and I use their fluids in my 97 vette (engine, trans, and diff)...however, that being said, I dont believe AMSOIL has the GM certification on the oil.
Does the oil meet the certification, yes, but has it been tested to the certification, no...

And because my Solstice is under GM warranty for the next 5 years, if anything happens to the engine while I'm using AMSOIL, they are going to throw a hissy fit. I'm just going to stick with Mobil 1 Syn.

Over on corvetteforum, the guys there are convinced that Mobil 1 synthetic forumla has been changed recently (within the last year or so) and that it isnt as good as it used to be...however, it still carries the GM cert...

I've been using Royal Purple for about 20,000 miles. I change oil and filter every 5,000 miles or so. The car runs 3º to 5º cooler since I switched.

Ahh good, then I wasn't imagining it. They do claim cooler running engine and a few other things as well

Why Use Royal Purple

I use KY with Aloe Vera for all my loobricant applications.
Water soluable too, so jus park over a ditch and pull the plug.
Wash out the filter with some Tide Super detergent and ready to go again.

1.25 inches = 32 mm

I have always used Mobil 1 in all other cars, but local partsource had a good deal on Royal Purple so I decided to give it a shot, considering this is the second oil change.

I noticed that car seems more responsive to putting the pedal down.

Sounds like Royal Purple is getting some grand compliments!

Let me ruin that. Royal purple broke down a lot quicker on my last oil change than Mobil one. Mobil one still looks new after 3,000 miles when I change it. The Royal Purple was so bad at 2,500 miles I decided to do it early.

Mobil one FTW

Mobil one FTW

Good to know, I will check it. I've got about 1800 miles to go until I reach 2500 miles since oil change.

Thanks for the heads up.
