OK... time for a 3 incher? Then show us exactly what this setup can do.

Does your Westers tune allow more than 23psi for longish periods of time?

Long enough for a quarter mile! But it is most trouble free around 22psi.

I wonder if 3" will even be sufficient area...

450 is pretty high for stock internals. Are you recommending we do that or do you think its more of a take a chance kinda thing?

On another note. I pretty much invisioned 400 at the wheels to be maxed out for this cars architecture. I havent seen anyone be able to tame the wheel spin. Tuning your kit down to say 400WHP, what can I expect from the computer? Is it gonna fight back and go limp or is it just gonna take it?

I need the ECU to hold the boost all the way down a 3/4 mile straight... Road Race style track days. :-)

Send Westers back to the drawing board to fix the 23psi max boost issue.

I would think so... 2.5" is commonly thought to be good for 350 crank hp.
a 2.5" pipe has an area of 4.9 sq inches
a 3" pipe has an area of 7 sq inches, or 42% more.

42% more power than 350hp is 500 crank hp. I'll be happy with that. So combine the bigger pipe with a free flow muffler and we should be flying.

On the other hand, I just added a 3.5" exhaust to my STi since it has a GT35R and ought to be capable of more than 500 crank hp. Hopefully, approaching 600.

I was thinking 3.25ish would be nice. I want a high flow, very quiet muffler.

22psi is absolutly trouble free. There is a hidden reset someplace that wont let us by. It will take a BIG code rewrite for a different map sensor so were kinda stuck with that for the moment. There is a possibility that we can swap in some 3 bar map sensors the report 2/3 the boost signal, but it's yet untested.

Is 450hp going to have the same longevity as 260hp? Of course not! but it's less additional stress than you might think since it's done at the same boost pressures. Drive with some respect for the parts and dont redline it at 7600 from every light and it should last as long as you would expect it to. Or at least long enough for you to get powergreedy with whatever new pcm developements come along in the coming years..

I will have prepped in the box short/longblocks with the very first wiseco pistons availible for the LNF this winter. I know for a fact the LNF piston is in the dieshop getting the forging die made. sugar scoop and all.

Oh yes friends some NASTY LNF's are in the works... you'll be able to join in the fun too 800hp with just one part number..

I was just looking at some logs, I can run to 41mph in first and 68mph in second. Nice to see most of the tach used, I think some valvetrain upgrade should be done soon. I'd like to push higher up the rev range. Esp after I get my wiseco pistons in there.

Stage 2 GT35R kits are being built this week. I know of a pretty fast LNF in the middle of NewYork....

I'm turning some nasty R's for stock longblock. It will be very interesting to see what your car puts down. Right now I burn 43-45lbs min from 4500-7500. Similar 2.0's bare their teeth at 5K with the Gt35R and pull hard to 8000rpm. Im sure with the full VVT intake and exhaust +DI we'll see th epower come on sooner. But I would'nt be suprised at all if peak power comes in at 7800-8200rpm with your combo/stage 2 BTF.

I finnaly got that Big hole in the ground you saw last time you came finished. Im hoping to be pouring 'crete for the pit and blockin' it up this wed.
Maybe as early as next week I'll have my floor poured and Roll in the hole.

Cant wait to have my dyno back!!!!

Is pricing on the GT35r still expected to be around $50 extra?? If so that would be an amazing performance bargain, even after you include the cost of tune!! I can't wait till its ready and can have it installed!

Yep, so long as I dont get any suprises from garrett/ Tial on the Supplier end. Being WD-direct means the pricing is as volitile as the metal market.

Whatever the cost difference is between 30R/35R it will be directly passed on, no markup. It's the same amount of work for me either way, and I dont believe in profiteering.

Awesome BTF, you're the best. Looks like I'm going to have to put off upgrading the appliances in my kitchen for a couple more months

Sorry this may have already been answered, but Lyndon said anyone who purchased the RACE tune is eligable for all future updates free.

He stressed to me that the easiest and therefore default way to handle our software/hardware partnership is that he will be just handling the PCM's directly.

We are working together developing the tune using my car & dyno for all my packages. He then has the proper calibration "on the shelf" for my products for you to purchase from him. Perhaps with a discount, perhaps not we havent gotten that far. Only that we have agreed to work together on this project.
At the very least BTF racing Inc. will be providing you with a prelabeled box all ready to ship for your PCM.
Since you already have his race tune, I'm not sure what his policy is on reflashes.
