Somone asked about the feasability of one of these.
Tial has the GT28 series SS housing. Currently they have the 0.86 in stock. Tial housing availibility
I dont belive they will exactly fit my GT30R fixture, but since My wife isnt driving it now (winter) I could build a few right off the car if I was asked to do so.
Same list of parts, just smaller turbo. I'd have to check to be sure, pending interest, but prolly the same cost as well.
They are coming out with a new gate (I bet next summer before they ship, despite what they say) that will fit in some compact places. Possibly allowing the use of the factory CAT, albeit with a external dump.
So what are we looking at hp\tq wise compared to the gt30 and quicker spool? And with new watsegate, possibly I could keep my downpipe? Any other pros\con besides added space?

There will be a 8-900rpm lower boost threshold, make max power of 450flywheel.
The gt30R will punish you in a drag race, but around a short road course it might be a different story.
this will be a great alternative turbo....for people who are into autocrossing and etc...
I definitely felt the lag with the GT30r turbo compared to the small kO4 turbo......but once it spools, I start to grin! But I'm not an autocrosser.......I'm a drag racer, so the GT30r is the best choice for me!
This option seems to be a great daily driver option without the lag of bigger turbo's. Yes please!
I'm interested in the previous questions and have a few more.
I thought the .64 A/R housing was better for daily driving. What do you think BTF?
And can one set up to route the blow off back into the exhaust?
I am with the kwtoxman on this one. I think the 800~900 rpm lag penalty for the GT30 is just too much for my driving style. I'll take the punishment up top for quicker spool times down low. Right now it is looking like the turbo wheel upgrade or perhaps GT2876R if that is a viable option. I prefer to recirc and keep things as quiet as possible. I am just waiting to see how this GM tune with new sensors/Op system plays out and whether BTF can tune out the surge on the wheel upgrade. I suspect there are many on the fence like me.

There a cast manifold from garrett that is designed to put a discopotatoe on a cobalt.
It has the standard GT28 flange (internal gated).
Im trying to get my hands on one of them (they only come it kit form) to see if it could possibly just bolt to our cars. I know the bolt patterns and such are compatible, just not sure if it will fit in the engine bay.
