After having XM for 5 years, I just canceled mine. I'll cancel my wife's when we've used what we've paid for. The music and channel's are awesome, but the company sucks... bad. Unethical business practices... borderline criminal. Google "XM billing problems" and see the thousands of customers that they've ripped off. No doubt in my mind that a class action law suit is in the near future for Sirius XM.

Cool

Thanks for the heads up SD.

I just re-upped yesterday for a year @ Half Price. Took too long on the phone to get-r-done.

Was trying to cancel and the first 4 (+/-) CS Reps could not/would not do anything. I believe that they have multiple hold buttons on their phones and I always get placed into the 'never answer' queue.

Safe for another year, unless the satellite falls from the sky.

I wonder how many commercials designed to entice the freebie customers to join that us paying customers are going to have to listen to during this promotion.

I was just pondering this because I received a 'special offer' from them for $79.95 for a year. Given the things I saw on that site as well as the fact that I seem to get frequent drop outs of reception, I'm going to pass.

If anyone else is going to sign up, my advice would be do not do it by credit card, send them a cheque once a year.

Try telling the CSR that it's a convertible and you don't drive it in bad weather. That's the truth for me, and it got me almost half off.

Half off what - the full price or the $79 price (Canadian - not sure what the US equivalent is)?

I looked at the programming and there are two stations I'd ever listen to - Blues and Jazz. Given that I use the car about once a week, and that I also listen to other material, it just didn't seem worthwhile paying for that amount of use.

$80 a year is only $6.67 a month.

This is about half the usual price I see.

Well call it $7 a month with the GST, but yes, it isn't that expensive, it just isn't that much of an advantage over commercial radio, if you have decent stations in your area. With only two stations on XM that I'd ever turn on, and given the fact that I wouldn't listen exclusively to them, it would probably cost me 50 cents every time I listened, especially as the Solstice isn't going to get used at all in any snowy periods.

Frankly not worth that to me when the free options are almost as good. Fails the cost/benefit test for me. $50 a year I'd probably go for. Plus the stories of 'bad' behaviour in terms of service and billing practices frankly tips the balance for me. These guys don't sound like a lot of fun to deal with.

Maybe I am just too used to good radio being free?

Arent Sirius/XM bankrupt or close to it? My wife and I have it on our 09 Mustang GT's, hers already has expired and I'm not going to bother renewing ours(free 3 month thing when bought new), best they offered was 12 bucks a month. I only listened to 3 stations, Patriot, Octane, and sometimes Metal. Not worth the extra money when I have a good rock station near here, 95.1 for rock and a country station for the rest.
