"Here we have a beautiful and mint condition original 2002 GENERAL MOTORS CONCEPT Brochure on the 2002 PONTIAC SOLSTICE. It is a full color brochure given to the press at the models introduction. It is a full color brochure with specifications, model information and highlights, color pictures and more. These are very rare and make a nice addition to anyone's collection."

We are all driving one of those rare machines that went from concept to production with very little if any noticable changes. Even today you would have to put the concept Solstice that Bob Lutz drove out on the stage in Detroit next to one of ours for the average Joe/Jane to see the differance. OUTSTANDING!!!! Now with the debut production of the new Solstice coupe which was Franz von Holzhausen's original concept Solstice drawing, the Solstice dream ,concept and production has come to fruition. If any Sols owners do not have " The Pontiac Solstice Book" by Gary Witzenburg, I would highly recommend it. It really tells the whole story of this wonderful car from concept drawings to full production.
As for me 85 degrees in Phoenix today...I just came back from a topless, windowless cruise around the outlying areas of this beautiful desert environment...and it never felt better. I love this car... Sol on....

It would have been interesting. Not sure that 2.2L S/C would have been direct injected. There might be more power out of the 2.0L that is in the GXP. Hard to say.

As for the 6 speed, I know I have seen many comment on this. IMO, it doesn't really need it, but who am I to say what someone else would like?

I like the nose styling of the concept better, and it looks like the COD would have been better, yielding higher top end and better fuel mileage. You have to wonder why they changed the concept. I know they are always changed, but in this case, like many others, they should have left it the same. Probably had to do with the radiator.
If the nose was a little longer it could probably allow a lower hood to eliminate the bulge and give a better COD. Have to wait for the redesign to see.
