You can't listen to this magazine they have the nerve to claim the chevy cobalt sticks to the road better and was faster through the slalom then the sol GXP. . With a higher trap speed in the 1/4 mile..

It probably does stick better and slalom faster because it has stickier tires than the GXP does. It also has better aero than the GXP which would account for its higher trap speed. Quite a few of us are really wondering why the GXP, being a sports car, was so obviously dumbed down from the factory.

2 failed pinion seals...300+ miles, and 9,700+ miles...and one more under recall at 12,636 miles for a grand total of 3!
Driver's outside door handle came apart in May 2008...repaired June 2008
Canvas top replaced June 2008.
Gas cap replaced.
All repairs covered under warranty.

But it's ok if the Cobalt does?

Solstice GXP picked up 10/13/2006. Triple black Mysterious, Darkside, Ebony leather with red stitching. All Options, but no spoiler. 5 speed chrome wheels, XM, OnStar, sport metallic pedals everything but the blonde salesgirl...

It's interesting to hear you say dumbed down for the sol at the factory when I really think they were intrested in making the most sexy and beautiful sports car possible under thirty grand and speaking of dumbed down ask the scsc racing folks where the na sol took first in stock b and the GXP took the first four spots in touring 2. The Miata folks are trying to get them banned cause they are just to dumbed down and fast.

The SCCA cars are RACE cars with racing tires, racing suspensions, and other sorts of race tweakery. Not comparable to our cars at all. The tires on the HHR SS and Cobalt SS are more aggressive than ours. They got no lift shift and launch control. We did not.

Why didn't the SPORTS car get aggressive tires?
Why didn't the SPORTS car get no lift shift?
Why didn't the SPORTS car get launch control?

We should have had all of those things and then some. Our cars were dumbed down.
