I was looking through the autosport catalog on AutoSportCatalog.com - Products For Everyone Who Drives! 800-953-0814 when I noticed a low profile jack they were using on a Solstice ( it also comes with a wrench )
cool or not cool?

Yeah that's cool......
I purchased a mechanical scissors jack & lug wrench from Pep Boys for under $30.00 because it will be easier to store in the trunk. They had a hydraulic scissors jack in a case similar to what you've shown.

IMHO basically an overpriced piece of junk (rear view mirrors!?!?) . One of those "gift items" grandma buys for her grandson she sees once a year who just got his first car.
I'm qute confident they picked a Solstice to show it on because our cars don't come with a jack (what do you need a jack for if there is no spare?).
You can get a "real" jack for 89.99 from Harbor freight Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
Or a light duty one better than that from Wal Mart for 39.99
The impact wrench is a joke... Harbor freight also has a better one for 29.99
Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices It works... eventually.
But again, why carry a jack without a spare, what are you going to do once you jack the car up?

You're all spelling it wrong anyway... It's not Harbor Freight. It's Harbor Fright. Because when the tool breaks while you're using it, it will give you a fright.
Imagine an impact socket shattering while being used. Or jack stands bending / crumpling. How about a cherry picker that bends while holding an all aluminum block.

Yes, you really do get what you pay for. And if you need a 1 time use tool, than by all means, shop at Harbor Fright. If you want a tool you can use a second time, you might want to hit up the Snap-On man. Or at least hit up Sears for some Craftsman.

I do a little of both. Depends on the tool and frequency of use...

all mechanics i have ever worked with buy harbor freight sockets and ratcheting open ends etc because we travel so much, they get lost so much. that they dont usually have time to break. as far as all my [power tools, like my cordless electric impact gun, i got that from snap on for WAY too much money. but, its a monster

I bought this from Harbor Fright because I needed the flexible stubby 3/8 drive ratchet to reach a motor mount on my 72 C-10. It got the job done, but when I pulled the ratchet off the bolt, it came apart in my hand.
It got the job done............... barely.

Is it just me or do I get the feeling that they do not actually show the car lifted?

Not even confident that they are using the jacking points in the picture; Isn't a jacking range of 5" to ? a little high (will it fit under the side if you have a flat?).

THINGS THAT MAKE ME GO HMMMM
