Thought I would post a new thread since some have indicated they didn't know the date.

Here is the story link:
SPEEDtv.com - The Online Motorsports Authority | Lifestyle | More Drivers, Cars and Racing Highlight Second Season of Setup on SPEED | by David Harris | Road Trips, Travel, Barrett Jackson, Tuner Cars, Sports Cars, Muscle Cars, Classics and more!

If you didn't get to see it last season, you missed an exciting series. Ten Solstice GXP drivers were selected to compete at several tracks, under several conditions. They had to have their own crews, do their own mods, and even get sponsors. It was fun to watch, even tho the backtalking at times rivaled your favorite soaps, I'm sure.

Feb 21 on Speed Channel. Don't miss it!

I got yelled at a while back for saying they were using the Solstices (it was supposed to be a secret), one of the sponsors told me and they weren't supposed to I guess. It was a product sponsor that supplies stuff for the cars. I am glad the so called cat is out of the bag.

I enjoyed the first year.

I took extra enjoyment out of hating a few of the drivers.

Now, if only I could get on the track with them so I could take them out.

I thought it was funny how the kid declined a sponsor and then eventually got bumped from the show.

What a Bonehead move!

I would bet that we have all made mistakes similar to that. My ego was strong as a young man.

I know it would be pretty expensive to do, but mixing up different vehicles every race would be interesting. They could go though the entire GM lineup and end in the Zr1.

I liked the way they've paired up the drivers. That Brazilian one looks like he could cause some trouble....should be interesting!

I was glad to see which ones were the first to be sent home - they could have really caused so,me trouble for the other drivers!

Did anyone catch the moment in episode 2 when one of the rejected drivers blamed his

poor performance on the turbo kicking in and throwing him off line?

Does that actually happen?!

That was the same guy who complained the Koni's weren't right and the setup on the car was loose... yet his team mate indicated the car drove just fine for her.

I think the guy was making excuses...

I agree, that guy was just too nervous and refused to take any responsibility for his own actions. Spinning out twice in one race is too much (and once in practice)- he was dangerous. And the blond woman - a competition is NOT the place to get your first experience!
