Consider the rest of that story.....They rank the Mitsu Eclipse as a better sports car than the Solstice and Sky which come in DEAD LAST. This just shows that the whole article is crap.

The Eclipse is NOT a sports car, same class really as the Celica or Tiburon. these are not RWD vehicles and these are not true sports cars, but they are sporty cars in the 2 plus 2 realm. They do not compete against each other at all. But, there are some who prefer the Sol/Sky and those who prefer the Eclipse/Celica/Tiburon. They Tibby looks cool to me, but is FWD and offers good value but little performance. That said, love what you drive for what it is, and pay little attention to the negative reviews, but also, don't exalt in the positive one's either. Mine is great, FOR ME. No reviewer will change that, negative or positive.

How bout this....exalt the possitive uniqueness of this sportscar most of us join this forum to share and enjoy. Discuss how it could be better. Pay little attention to the lectures that hush or downplay that enthusiasm......for it seems there will always be those who view the Pontiac Solstice forum existing as only a gathering place for Solstice owners.... who surely need to be continuously straightened out by those few of special insight.

MX-5 owners think the same too. They have a forum where they denigrate the perceived competition. As a former Vette owner, you prolly visited online Vette forums or owners club events and thought then that the Vette was the creme de la creme. So be it. That is their and your right. It is also my right to call a spade a spade, to see what it is and what I am being purposedly misled about.
Truth is, the Solstice is a beautiful car and a good design. GM has issues with quality and the recall is but ONE example. Those who have had problematic Solstices have been labeled trouble makers, because they do not worship at your Solstice HolyGrail. Me, it is my daily driver. While I like driving it, am satisfied with its performance for the dollar, there are better cars FOR ME, and two of them I own--both by BMW. There are better cars to others than my 2 BMWs too. In fact, in your mind, any car you drive is better than any car any one else could drive. That is how I interpret your logic.
Discussions of making the car better are fine. Hyperbole is not.

Your true interptetation of my logic is.....if it doesn't fit precisely with your opinion..then it is subject to assumptions and a need to be reconstrued as merely a philosophy of only bold exaggeration. For many this repetitious insistance to argue your point is nothing more than a continuing nuisance that goes nowhere. Often resulting in name calling or shutting the thread down...or your opponent ceasing to post on the subject. I'll choose the latter.
