GXP Fog Lamp Covers - New Design & Install

After a few issues with our molds we have finally put the finishing touches on our GXP Fog Lamp Covers. Here is complete install instructions with photos of the finished product. These photos are not photoshopped in any way. This new method of install and the improved mold make for a more factory look and don't allow any light to escape from around the outside edges.

Here's the Install instructions with photos. Those of you who have ordered these and have the old design, we will be happy to replace them with the newly designed version, free of charge.

Thanks for everyones patience.

Tony

The new kit includes the covers as well as a blockout vinyl tape precut to the lamp shape.

Start by removing the bezel from the outside of the lamp. This is just clipped in and pops off fairly easily. This is the same thing you would have to do if you were changing the bulbs in your fog lights.

Once removed, you will see the exposed foglamp.

Clean the foglamp thoroughly with alcohol and let dry.

Peel the vinyl tape off the backing paper and start with the top half of the lamp. Starting with the cutout around the mouting screw stick the tape along the edge of the foglamp. Using your left hand to hold the tape away from the lamp, smooth the tape on with your right index finger. The tape is very flexible and will conform as you pull it along. If you miss a bit, just lift it and try again. This take a little care and patience.

Repeat the same process for the bottom half of the lamp with the vinyl tape.

When complete the tape should look like this.

Reinstall the plastic bezel.

Remove the backing tape from the adhesive side of the cover. Ensure you have to correct side as they are different and marked on the back.

Starting with the inside, line up the cut out of the tabs with the cut out of the same tab on the cover and press in this side.

Then line up the other tab on the opposite side and press in. Careful not to press too hard as we don't want to break the cover.

There you have it. Complete install. Repeat the same process for the opposite side.

As you can see in the photos. the fit is nearly perfect and the black vinyl tape ensures no light shows through the outside. Makes it look factory.

What is the process to make the exchange? I have the slotted version and would like the slotted again.

Other Thread

Just so you all know, I deleted the other thread about the fog lamp covers. The thread was becoming counter productive and I just couldn't reason with one individual. I hope you have all received your new covers and are happy with them, I would love to get pictures of finished installs.

Thanks
Tony

John,

Your money has been refunded. These are my threads which I pay money to maintain for my business. If I feel that something should be handled on an individual basis rather that posting up here, I will edit my thread for the best interests of my business. I did delete some posts that I felt should be handled one on one with the customer. I feel this is giving the best customer service. You can continue to bash my products all you want, but at some point, people will begin to question your motives.

Have a nice day.

Tony,

I just got my set today and just installed them. The fit is 100% better than the original and the black vinyl works great. I am very pleased. Thank you.

One suggestion would be to label the back of the vinyl sheet so you would know which one goes on the Driver side and the passenger side and the top and bottom.

Another benefit from the install is now I know what has to be done to replace the fog lamp light bulb.

Thanks Derek, I am so glad to put this issue to bed. I appreciate the tips for labeling the vinyl and will do that for others.

Thanks again.
