Mean 2008 GXP
Acquired 6/21/10 with 1275 miles on it - Summer Solstice !
I agree with SkyPilot....I have cancelled XM on all four of our vehicles in the last few months. It was ridiculous. What they really need is a cafeteria plan that lets you pay for the channels you use. I only listed to 3-4 channels.

I don't even have OnStar anymore, let alone the radios stuff. I canceled OnStar on all of our cars and the rat bastards are still charging me, going to have to get on them.

Just cancelled xm because I retired the sol as a daily driver and my new old truck is am/fm only, but it will be sweet to have it for the Kerville meet next month.

Thanks. I have not used mine for that cost factor too. Most of the channels in the past were junk and the car is seasonally used so not worth it for me.

For the past 2 years I have been getting my XM for about $30 for a 5 month period. Just renewed the XM for my Coupe today it cost me $31.84 including tax for 5 months. I call XM about 5 days before my 5 month period is ready to expire and tell them that I am thinking about cancelling my XM and use my iPhone instead. After talking with them for awhile I get the 5 month rate. I have 3 cars that I do this for.

If the audio quality was there, I'd consider it. The compression artifacts are way too distracting for me to listen to it any length of time.
Radio is meant to be free.

Yeah really. I am a bit of an audiophile and mixed sound for a living for a while. Sometimes it drives me crazy. Getting it via my Dish network satellite is not as bas though. I need to record some songs and convert to MP_ for my phone and just play that.

Heck yeah!
It's funny... I remember back in "the day" when I was deep into car audio (IASCA competitions, trucks full of speakers, etc) amplifiers were hard to come by, extremely expensive (>$500 for just 200 watt stereo), and the only thing we had were cassette decks unless you wanted to spend over $900 for a simple in-dash CD deck. Now the Monsoon system in Summer is quite adequate for a stock radio, and I carry all 6500+ of my MP3s (high bitrate encoding) on the 64GB MicroSD in my phone. Crazy.

Yep it's High Bit rate or nothing for me too. I hate crunched can audio. Yuk
The MUCH better half bought her car in '08 and it had a 'trial period' for XM. We never listened to it and never signed up for it. It's still playing. Only reason I know is when I use the steering wheel control to toggle through, it still plays. If it stopped I doubt we'd ever notice.
