Some of you may know about this. If you still have a paper FAA CERTIFICATE it will be expired as of March 13 2013. You will need to replace it with the plastic certificate before March 13 2013.

Actually, the "pilots" paper certificate expired March of 2011. The paper "mechanic's" certificate will expire March of 2013. If your paper certificate uses your SSN as the certificate number it won't cost you anything for a new plastic certificate otherwise it's $2.00.

The new (credit card) type cards are pretty nice. I had to change a few years back because they were not accepting the paper ones several places in Europe. Plus we were getting ramped checked to make sure ours stated (English speaking). Many of us also changed to a new number from using our social security numbers when we got the new cards.

IIIIfly.... What? Sofar in my 50+ years of flying I've managed to keep the number of take offs and landing equal.
