So last Thursday we here in SW Michigan had some pretty good rain overnight and into Friday with a forecast of mid-50's on Saturday. My wife always gets cabin fever but it's usually toward the end of February. I figured I'd be pulling her off the ceiling with temps like that in January, especially on a weekend.
She tip-toed around the possibility of taking the Solstice for a run. I told her I'd been expecting her to bring the subject up and as long as we got enough rain to get the salt off the roads, I'd already resigned to accepting it as reality.
It was 58 degrees when we left, her driving with her new leather driving gloves that Chickenclaus got her. I played navigator and directed her through some of the twisties around local lakes. A couple hours and a lunch later we pulled into the driveway and I started to break out the hose and detailing bucket.
I stopped and thought "I'm not washing this thing yet. I HAVEN'T driven it!" Told her I was going for a drive, she jumped in with me and we went out for a little more fun.
Every time I think it's time to add a little more performance to our 2.4 N/A I flash back to the wife giggling out loud when she drops the hammer and it hits it's power band. Then I say to myself "Nah, this is fast enough as it is."
Now we're back to single digit temps at night and a dusting of snow on the roads. Guess that means I'm back to plugging in the space heater and polishing paint.
Was fun while it lasted though!
