We got our car back from the Fuel pump fiasco at the Dragon. They didn't fix it right and we had to bring it home to our local dealer. They got it fixed , last night the check engine light came on AGAIN. I'll take it in this morning and what it is this time.
Lexington meet is coming up soon and we don't need this.

I hope you aren't leading runs again. I know the little box ran alright at the Dragon, but I can't imagine you going through that again at another major event.
Good Luck, Ric

The tech. says that it's a fuel pressure sensor, inside the gas tank. They cleared the code and said to run it and see if the light comes back on.

And AGAIN today. The light came on again with no codes, this time. Today they tell me that It's going to need a new computer. I'm starting to think that it might be time to call a lawyer and have GM buy this car back. Lexington event is less than a month away and it's not looking good.

OMG Twotoys, this is not good. I hope that you can get this straightened out. Not only is it frustrating to have a new vehicle which is not reliable, but you are wasting a lot of time driving back and forth to the dealership. Your time is money. I would definitely let them know you are considering pursuing the lemon law. I did this once before on an S-10 that I had, that I had in the dealership 6 times for the same problem. At that point, they suddenly fessed up to what the real problem with the truck was, and that it needed a really expensive new part which GM had limited quantities of, and GM had requested that dealerships do patches here and there to try to avoid ordering the necessary part. The dealership was on the phone that day with GM, and had the part within a week. No problems after that. But- I still don't think it was right that they made my life hell all that time.

What I don't understand, and maybe small dealer can explain, is why some dealerships like mine will go above and beyond to get something fixed. If mine doesn't understand an issue I'm having they are on the phone right then and there with whoever at tech services they need to call. While others here have such a hard time with their dealers. I just don't get the broad spectrum.

Good luck TT I hope they get it fixed soon.

My dealership did call the tech line right away but they don't know how long it will take to get the new ECM. I'm happy with this dealership. The check engine light is still on and today the DIC say's to check the gas cap. I'm sooooooo ready to give this car back and start over.

TwoToys,

I don't know what the fuel pump fiasco at the dragon was and I would hope they would have thought to check something this simple but these lights and codes can be caused simply by the fuel cap not seating/sealing correctly from damage or defect also.

I had one time where my cap didn't properly want to click and lock down and when I moved the car to a parking spot to get out of the way the light came on because the pressure was not proper in the tank. Fotunately I got it to go on correctly, cleared the code with the dashhawk and haven't had any problems since.

Just a thought.

I had similar problems and finally I was hooked up with a great dealer. He listened to me, cleared the code and replaced the gas cap with a new cap. Code never came back on and it has been 3000 code free miles.

It was so simple, I did not believe him but what the heck, he knew his stuff.

Lots do not.

We have the car back and the engine light is out but we had gas fumes in the cab so they had to take a look at that. Lexington looks like a go at this point. I'll drive it like I stole it.
