Well it sure was cold that day (Dec.29) but because of geological formations nearby (the Rockies) and wind changes, there is a meteorlogical condition that happens here called a "chinook" where it wil be warm and beautiful in the middle of winter. There is usually one chinook per month (probably more) but it is that time that you can drive topless very comfortably without freezing one's face off.
The beautiful summers here more than make up for it.
Winter time, I use my company 4WD Nissan Xterra and only bring out the Solstice when it chinooks. I have driven the Sol in the snow and it handles very well but I don't trust OTHER peoples driving.
You forgot about the Alberta Beef, and Canadian Beer!

Miner, you never have to freeze frame the face again ! The Sols come with a wonderful device called a heater , you can find it with the three knobs on the dash , then just turn till you feel warmth , the higher you turn the warmer you should get

Thanks for all the wonderful and useful advice, folks - it is particularly helpful in -35 C. and that is before wind chill. Heaters and defrosters do not do anything at that temperature. It might be easier to move south of the border but we have tons of oil here and our dollar is worth more than yours right now so I think I will stay put and suffer the cold winters.
Your appreciation of my intelligence is also noted and appreciated.

Left my home and drove for 5 hours without seeing a single Sol or Sky. Then after getting on I75 near Tampa I see a Aggressive Solstice going North. (Saturday early afternoon) Then a few miles later I see a Cool Sol going north.
After stopping for gas I see a Aggressive Sol getting gas, a tall lanky guy with really long hair, we honked the horn but he didn't see us. This is somewhere around Orlando or so.
Down in Naples Fl we see another Solstice but I can't remember what color...I think Aggressive. Sitting eating lunch at Tommy Bahamas I see a Chili Pepper (Red) Sky going down the main drag.
Today after stopping for gas and at McDonalds right outside of St. Augustine I turn around and see a Silver Solstice sitting in the McDonalds parking lot....
I wonder who these people are......
