you're close, you've got the img tags correct, but you need a web URL between the img tag, thus an http://www.someaddress.com/file.jpg

the 1234 you have is not an adddress/URL, thus it fails. You can host your images on putfile.com, then get the URL, and put that URL between the img tags.

Those tags will insert the whole picture, which is ok. Rodeo's suggestion is great, just host your images on putfile.com (it is free I believe) and then put the link to your picture in those image tags.

I believe that the thumbnails are only for pictures that have been uploaded to Solsticeforum's server, and not everyone can do that at this point. You may not be able to. (If you have a "manage attachments" button when you make a post under the "Additional Options" menu (below the submit reply button) than you may be able to upload, and that creates the thumbnails. Otherwise, putfile is your best bet.

putfile.com is free, and the images will stay on for six months minimum, and f they get pings/hits, then that timeline is extended (IOW, as long as the file is active on the net). It was desgined for use with forums like ours, and works very well.

You could also leave off the img tags, and just put the link, that way the pic won't show in the page, but is available by clicking the link!
