In your first post you are using the entire URL of the YouTube page instead of just the "video code"

I got it! Thanks kids! Sometimes the entire URL works, sometimes it doesn't.

Still don't know what's up with my internet service here at work. I can go directly to youtube, click on a video, and sometimes it works fine. The next time I go to bring up that same video and click on it, it doesn't play. Any ideas?

Even frustrated my Plant Manager! He wanted me to play some tunes!

Does the video player give you any sort of indication that it recognized the play request (e.g. the spinning pie)? If not I'd suspect a browser issue; sometimes the all these plugins used will overload the poor things and they'll seize up. If it's giving you feedback, it may be that there is some sort of QOS turned on by your IT guys and that's restricting your bandwidth. Probably the easiest thing to do is close your browser and restart it the next time a video hangs up. Should this solve the issue it's an almost certain chance it's a browser/plugin problem.

I get the spinning pie. That's it...nothing else. Or it tells me that video is unavailable when others on the forum see it no problem.

I've tried to close the browser and try again. Sometimes it works. Sometimes not!

Thanks for the info! BTW...how you doin???

It's not your browser, then, rather something upstream. If you have IT folks on staff it may be worth a question, but then this is about youtube so be prepared for a speech about company resources or a few chuckles. Sorry, but those of us who have done IT before can't resist giving people a hard time. There may be either bandwidth restrictions, content filtering, or both in play.

Me? I'm just a little tired this week. Hiked over the weekend, did weights the next day, then went kayaking that afternoon, and have pulled long nights since. At least there's some more time off coming to look forward to. You get your stuff installed over the weekend and work up the nerve to ask that certain someone a question or two?

Oh I was out last night drinking beer with our IT guy, so I'm sure I could ask and he'd have no problem with it. It's not a big deal. Maybe it has something to do with the idiots coming in on Saturday downloading porn and saving it on the network.

Speaking of the certain someone, I ended up having beer and wings with him last night! Purely by chance! Had a great time! He's going to a little party we're having tonight. We'll see what happens. I can only pursue this one on a friendly basis. Anything else can't come from me given the situation. I'm still not for certain if he's just being friendly or if he's interested. Time will tell!

Been working a ton on my end as well. Our new summer intern started this week. Never had one before and it's been interesting! He requires much of my time so I haven't been on the forum nearly as much as usual.

You have a Happy Friday and a great weekend!

The general rule with IT is to wear something low-cut in the front. You'll usually get whatever you're asking for. If not, keep leaning forward until you do.

Are you certain that this someone feels just a bit pressured to not act first? The rules instilled in me are that it's ok to go across an organization on a given level (or more if there are departmental boundaries), up one level provided there's no reporting, but definitely not down, and certainly never with secretaries unless it's hush-hush or you have their husband's permission. Last thing you want is to be transported back to a junior high school dance where you both are nervously staring at each other.

OK, get this...I just got home about 15 minutes ago from our May Birthday Bash party. We ended up taking a road trip around the IL countryside. Me, him and 3 other people.

He's going to have to figure this one out. Based on observation, Soup's wife believes it's obvious he's interested. Apparently, he told his dad all about our supper together Thursday night. His dad made a comment about how he really likes me and thinks I'm great. (Excellent because he's the owner of my company and I'm in good with the parent!! My guess is dad thinks there must be something going on. Good for me.) One minute I get the "He's interested vibe." And the next minute I get the "really, really friendly vibe." I tried to get him to go golfing on Sunday, but he's busy. I did get him to go out on a road trip through the IL countryside until 3:00 am and I got him out to 2 establishments he's never been to before. All in all it was a good night.

Oh did I mention I'm making his basement into a party room? I have to find him a pool table, poker table, dart board, and bar for $4000. And I have to get him a clock and a sign. So I have no idea what his deal is. He's a VP. I'm lowly engineer. I don't report to him, but I do work with him sometimes. However, in my company, it doesn't much matter. Guess we'll see what happens!

Make sure the pool table you pick out is the one with the thickest felt, for more comfortable, er accurate bank shots.

That makes sense, there's only one guy I know who's not shown hesitation towards getting involved at the office and he's a sociopath. When it comes down to it, if he and his father have a controlling stake then they make/change the rules. But for your own sake, I'd suggest a ratty old couch in the basement, felt doesn't have much give to it and can burn.

Thanks for the tip!!! I'll give him some options and let him decide. I figure it's his pool table!!!

We played pool Friday night. He and I got spanked the first game. I played doubles with someone else the last game and I beat him and his partner. Do you think that was a bad move?!?!
