One thing you will want to make sure is understood by the dealership, is that you do not want the bracket istalled on the car. It is not uncommon for dealerships to take cars right from the truck to do a quick prep. The prep tech sees the bracket and it goes on.
Right... I talked to him about that when we put the order into VOMS (or whatever-LOL)
He told me last night, that based on his consensus report for June, that they aren't getting any GXP allocations for July. He said he wouldn't know until next month what, if any, he'd be getting allocated. He's been really super about keeping me in 'the know', but I'm so confused about this whole process.. maybe because of all the 'lingo' or terms being used about different things. I wish there was a way this process could be described for the layman.
Let me just ask this. Is there any dealership, anywhere, that has been allocated GXP's yet? (I thought I saw a post from someone that said his dealer said yesterday that they have two already). If there are dealers that do, and mine does not, does that mean i missed the first allocation?
Would you SD, or anyone else, be willing to post a thread that shows the step by step process in laymans terms, and how it all works... how allocations are given, how orders are placed... etc....or is this done, and I've managed to miss the thread somewhere?
ALSO, anyone know about ZQ2 - the power package. Is that only an option for the BASE.. is that the windows, locks, etc....?

The consensus report is just one way for a dealership to see into the future and what they may be getting for 2007 Solstice GXP allocation. Now they can also look at regular allocation reports through VOMS or Dealer WorkBench. They should be able to see if they have any allocation for the order cycle that starts today, June 22nd. The same report wwill show the number for the allocation order cycle starting July 13th.
The process was never intended to be watched over by the buyer. Most cars are sold from dealership inventories, so all the "behind the curtain" stuff has taken place. Most salespeople are not involved in the ordering process, so they do not know it. Large dealerships can have an Inventory Manager that does all the ordering for a single dealership or a whole chain. So even an on the floor Sales Manager may not know the full system.
If your dealership doesn't have any allocation showing on the reports, then yes your order will miss being "picked up" in the first allocation cycle.
On the last point, hopefully my 2007 constraint thread, if I finish it, will include explainations and definitions of the process as part of it. At least that is my dream. Much of the information is scattered throughout posts by the dealership and GM people that have posted here on site.

Next group of mags out will be in ~2 weeks....so look for the buzz to hit then. Check www.autoweek.com since they publish weekly....usually they are the first to review a car.

Okay, by this you mean, any consensus report he got previous to today for the month of June, or after todays VOMS/Workbench review? Meaning this... yesterday he told me they have no GXP allocations.... but unless I'm misinterpreting what you are writing, he should be able to 'check' again today in VOMS/WORKBENCH to see if that lack of an allocation has changed, and until he does, it can't be definately determined if indeed they did or didn't get an allocation...
Am I understanding correctly... or do I just need to face up to the fact my dealer missed the first allocation cycle?

The consensus reports and allocation reports have been out for a while, showing monthly numbers. Yesterday was the first day that the weekly allocation report, which shows specific allocation cycle dates, was out. Today would just be 1/4 of yesterday's report, showing information on just this cycle.
If your dealership has been saying that they did not receive and allocation spot for 2007 Solstice GXP, then it is probably true.

Yeah... crap! He told something about 'nothing' in the way of GXP for July, and then he said something about next months reports by the middle of the month (for August stuff). He did however get like 5 base. This blows. I'm bummed now. I'm going home sick, and get drunk.... anyone wanna come with me?
PS: Where's the little ICON guy for CRYIN'? Someone needs to make not just one that's sad , but one that's squirting a few. It's okay for me to cry about this right?

Don't be discouraged, most dealer's will probably miss the first allocation. I'll find out this afternoon if my dealer got one or not, he doesn't come in untill 1:00. But this is what some of us have been saying, just because you are priorty #1 doesn't mean your dealer will get an allocation right away. Some might not get it untill the third allocation. You have the best chance if your with a high volume dealer of getting one the first allocation.

Yesterday they priced the 2007 Solstice GXP on the Pontiac site under Solstice and a GXP tab. They also had the Base Solstice posted at $20,995 (the 2007 price) even though it was labeled as a 2006 (which the site still is). The "build your car" section had/has it right for 2006 (not up yet for 2007).
Today, who ever took over for the person fired yesterday tried to correct it. So instead of it returning to $20,490 for the 2006 Solstice. They missed their numbers, reversing the "4" and the "0", and getting $24,090.
I am sure once they hire someone to replace that person, it will get fixed, again.

I noticed your signature changed about allocations for June 22. Are there dealers in america, right now, that have the first allocations for the GXP? If so, how does one fine out which dealers those are? Do you know of a way?
