I'm going Saturday to a few local Pontiac dealers to see about placing an order for my 2009 N/A Aggressive vert.
Got my "folder" all together with my important research information, a lot of which I gathered here thanks to quite a few knowledgeable members.
I'm a photo nut so I will probably be photo documenting the whole experience since this will be my first custom ordered vehicle.
Tomorrow is bank day. Going to see about getting a good rate on a loan for the car so I know what is possible if the dealership tries to get me at a bad rate.
This weekend is going to be a fun one!
Let the Adventure Begin...

Make sure that you check out some of the online loans as well, roadloans, hsbc, capital one, bofa etc.... get yourself a good rate.
I was able to beat the dealers used rate by a point so it helped for sure!
If you go to the local pontiac dealer, they got me a good rate on a loan... 5.5% on a 60 month loan through Hancock Bank... they checked a bunch of places and I think 5.5% is awesome for someone my age...

Based on past posts, there is a chance you could be disappointed at some dealerships.
Site memebers have posted that when pricing information is not available in GM AutoBook, the desktop order configuration tool used by salespeople, some dealerships can be reluctant to talk price or even orders.
Pricing for 2009 was just recently announced for the 2009 Solstice, and as of this morning's AutoBook update, it is not be added.
Best thing to do is prepare a list with the model and options/packages that you want listed on it. Lined paper would be best. Include a line for destination charge. Prepare a copy or two for each dealership that you plan on visiting. This way they can take your sheet in fill in the prices from the other GM sources.
You may even want to contact the dealerships you plan on visiting in advance so that they may get the numbers and be prepared for your visit.
The bank I went to today quoted me 7.5% which was more than I would want. They even told me that dealerships are able to get better percentages on loans than the banks around here can.
If I can get 5.5% then I'm jumping on it! haha
small dealer, you have been a HUGE help in me gathering info. Thanks for the idea and I will be typing something up in a few minutes.
I'm looking forward to the adventure that I will have tomorrow.

BANDITCAR...you should consider an 07 Solstice. Small dealer correct me if I am wrong...but I do believe that GM is offering a 0% interest loan on 07 sol's. Thats why I bought my 07 GXP. Good luck!
If you are going in to custom order your car you may be jumping the gun on financing. You will not pay for the car until delivery, however long that will take now, and rates are bound to change.
In the early days we had folks get written agreements on order from dealers to sell at MSRP even when they did not know all of the line-item-charges at the time they placed the order.

Will you be in Denver for the 2009 Summer Solstice?
The reason I'm not wanting an 07 or 08 is just for the fact that I want the car a certain way. No matter what incentives or deals, I cannot find a N/A Aggressive 5spd Manual car with A/C as the only option. That is just something that I'm not bending on. When I get this car I want it in its purest form.
As for the financing, I'm set with that. I got a fantastic deal that is locked in until the car is delivered.
UPDATE on todays outing.
Went to the closest dealer and they were ready to take the order without problem. The system to order 09 had just become available and they were getting ready to order a Solstice for dealership stock. They ordered a Wicked GXP loaded.
But when time came to get pricing, that was not available in system as of yet. Without pricing I was not placing an order for one. So no order today. Waiting for pricing in the system.
Went to the second dealer and they had ONE guy who does the ordering and he wasn't there today. I left them my info and headed out.
Called the dealership where I test drove a Brazen GXP and they reaffirmed that they are able to place an order but pricing was not available. They estimated within a month for pricing.
So as it sits right now I'm playing the waiting game.
On other good news, I have 2 buyers for the F350 so that is a worry off my back. Thought I would have more trouble getting rid of it due to the fuel prices.
Looks like I'll be prolly another 3 months without my Sol, hee hee.

The 2007 models have reached final pay status as of June 3rd.
No consumer incentives/rebates or GMAC finance programs available on them.
On June 24th, GM did introduce a 0.0% for 72 month program that includes the 2008 Solstices (in lieu of $3,000 of consumer and bonus reabtes), that runs until June 30th.

As of this morning, GM AutoBook still has not been updated with the 2009 pricing.
Orders that go in this allocation cycle (ending Saturday night) are for a Target Production Week of August 4th.
Pricing has been released to dealerships. It is just not in any of the easy places to look.
The dealership needs to have someone:
1) Log into the dealership information web portal of GM DealerWorld.
2) Select the Sales function tab.
3) Select GM Pricing.
4) Select Pontiac.
5) Select 2009 Solstice.
6) Select Start of Production.
This will give the dealership the pricing information they need, to manually configure and price the car the way you want to order it.

I've had a couple dealers call two days ago, but only to tell me that they still don't have pricing but they will call me again as soon as its available.

Small Dealer,
I just bought my 08 and there were no incentives at the time except the memorial day sale, 500 bux I think... (05/29/08)... do you know if they'll go back and hook me up with the 0.0% deal if I qualify since it's been less than a month? Kinda sucks that I buy the car and then there's a good deal on financing...
Thanks to SD I went to a couple of the dealerships yesterday (Friday) and showed them how to get pricing through GM Dealerworld. They had no idea! ahha
First place I went to was kinda high and didn't think they would budge. Second place I went to did better than the first and was below my smart target price.
Today, I decided to go out to Slidell to the place where I test drove the Brazen GXP and see what, if anything they could do for me.
Well they gave me the best deal of the three so they got my business.
So with $500 deposit the order has been placed for my 2009 Aggressive N/A Solstice 5spd only option added: A/C
Got it for a locked in price of $22,991 (+tt&l)
I think I did okay. If the car arrives during a time when there is a cash back incentive goin on then those rebates will apply and I'll have even more money taken off.
I'm so stoked...I can't wait for the car. As soon as they find out the delivery date and any other details I'm taking off of work for that day and probably the next so I can spend the whole time getting acquainted with my new Red Rocket.
