I'm a newbie to the forum and I joined becast I think that I may have missed the boat.
I want to get a GXP Coupe with a manual transmission and air conditioning. Other than that, I'm not particular.
The dealer that I'm working with had a friend go to the GM marshalling yard in Pontiac, MI and he reported that there aren't any more 2009 GXP coupes available. I just missed one last weekend, dangit...
My only option at this point seems to be ordering a 2010, which I'm willing to do. Unfortunately, I have access to about $5,500 in GM incentives, most of which expire at the end of May and/or June.
Can anyone provide any insight about the actual availability of the 2010s or whether the GM incentives (buyer loyalty and extra GM Card points) are likely to be offered on the 2010s?
On a lighter note, the local Mazda dealer asked if I'd buy a Miata if he took $5,000 less than the list price. It's a great time to be a buyer

I just purchased an 09 GXP Coupe yesterday (delivery hopefully next week). Dallas, Tx dealers have GXP coupes with both manual & auto that haven't even arrived yet (though some, like mine, may already be taken). Just depends on how far from home you wish to go. I didn't want to wait & order a 2010 on the outside chance that production gets cancelled (plans can change without notice). Good luck in your search.
as of yesterday, there were 3 in Denver dealerships.
Go to the pontiac.com website, build a coup and do a search of inventory and it will show you what exists. Change your zip code to different areas and you can search where ever y ou want

I agree...try the pontiac.com search. I did an advanced search from Maryland and 150 mile radius and the search came up with 2 1/2 pages of GXP Coupes. Then I checked the dealers website to see if the coupe was still available.
I was suprised at how many 2009 GXP coupes were out there and whats a 150 mile trip if you really want the car.
Thanks for the tip on the Pontiac search. There are a few that might be acceptable reasonably near by (300 to 600 miles), but I'm unfortunately limited in my ability to travel that far to get a car as I can't really be away from home for more than four to (maybe) six hours at a time for the next month or so (I have to take my mom to daily medical treatments and administer a lot of medication at home).
I'll look over the list of available GXP Coupes and see if I can find one that is close enough to actually make a mad dash out to get.
The reason I ask is there are Coupes all over Area codes 252, 919 & 704.
This one smells like a duck nested in it

I'm in Lincoln, Nebraska and the closest ones I'm finding that look like what I'm after are in Storm Lake, Iowa (probably at least four hours) and Mankato, Minnesota (probably seven or eight hours). Under my current circumstances, that's too far for me to go.
I'm seriously considering ordering one of the2010 Heritage Edition GXP Coupes--I really like the white with a blue stripe...
FYI - check the restrictions on your card before redeeming GM rewards points. I just bought a GXP and was only allowed to redeem $1,000 of $3,000 points since the card type was switched several years ago by the bank (GM Gold -> GM Family -> GM World). The credits were also incompatible with all other GM incentives save the $500 rebate for May delivery. To be honest I've had better experiences dealing with the IRS than dealing with GM and their rewards programs; to call them bureaucratic would be gross negligence on my part.

I have checked with a dealer, who looked up the incentives/points that I'm eligible to use and it's currently either $5,000 or $5,500. It's a heck of a big discount and I'd really like to take advantage of it.
Within a 35 mi area here in east central Indiana there are 6 coupes. Looks like 3 GXPs...3 NAs. 2 Wicked..2 Aggressive..2 Mysterious. I'm going to drive five blocks tomorrow to look at a Wicked GXP Coupe..and a Mysterious NA Coupe at our local dealer.
Another possability is to have your nearby dealer do a trade with the one that has the car you want. Like you, I wanted the manual transmission, and there is a limited supply of those. My dealer traded with one 400 miles away so I could get the color/model/trans I wanted. It is likely the price will not be as low as going directly to the dealer that has the car on their lot.
With all the turmoil and bankrupcy issues, there is no gurantee that your order will get processed. Even though certain colors/options are listed for a car, that is not a gurante GM will be able to produce them. With the bankrupcy issues, various suppliers might not provide the parts needed to build the cars.
If you do go with having your dealer trade to get your car, you can negotiate the price on your trade-in and negotiate prices on dealer accessories to get the price closer to what you would have paid if you drove the 400 miles to get your new car. Since you will need service for your new car at sometime, its helpful to get a good relationship with your local dealer.

I e-mailed the dealer that I'm working with to see if he can check on a GXP Coupe that is about 250 miles away. It has everything I want, except the metallic pedals and my color preference.
Even if it's a bit more money, I'd rather have a car in the garage than the uncertainty of ordering one.
Having a really good deal available on a convertible Solstice GXP, a Saturn Sky, a Miata or an RX-8 available as a backup is a good feeling I'd prefer a GXP Coupe, but any of these would be a dandy daily driver.
Once again, I'd like to say how much I appreciate the advice that I've received.

Wow! I purchased four maybe five vehicles using my GM points and never had an issue. All I did was give my card number to the dealer who then called to verify the point total. That was it! No problem at all.
Also, GM didn't switch cards on you. You accepted their offer to switch to the new program. I decided against their new card and still have the original card. I just got a letter in the mail from GM that they will top off my earnings to $2k if I purchase a vehicle by 6/30. Not bad considering I used all my points to purchase the GXP in September. Now I’m thinking of replacing my Trialblazer with a Traverse.

Cassady. The brushed-aluminum Pedal Covers can be put on later by you or your dealer. They are actually covers that go over the brake, clutch, and dead rest. The gas pedal was a replacement that was easy to exhange. The kit cost me something like $120, MSRP is $140. Maybe you can get the dealer to through it in.
