Wow, 14.75%! Isn't that pretty high for a car loan? Especially for a 3 year term.

Yes thats quite high but you do what you can. My rate is 11.49 for 6 years...however I'll have it paid off in about 2 1/2 years.

Mine is high because I don't have much credit that was more recent then 5 years old.

I plan on paying mine off early too. My interest is 6.74 and bought the Gap Insurance too. Bank of America was cheaper than HSBC. Who wudda thunk?

My sky was 30,018 I think out the door after taxes, tags, etc.

I had some cash to cover the difference I loaned, so I guess I put down ~7500 cash.
I ended up financing 22,500 at 5% for 5 years. My payments are 462/month but I just have 250bucks of each paycheck going directly to the loan every 2 weeks. I think I figured it out that I'll have it paid off in a bit more than 4 years at worst case.

But like Reed, It's money off the top of my check that I just don't see so I'll raise it a bit each year with my raises.

How much did you get for your S-10? I traded mine in with over 200K miles and got nothing for it....I wish I would have kept it.

Don't forget to figure in taxes, fees, extended warranty or whatever.
All said and done...my 32k GXP cost me 38,024.00 to drive home.
but, I got ripped off for about 3K.

Anyway, It's all about what you can afford.
I can estimate your payments for you if you like, so you can be prepared going in.

a 30k loan for five years at 7% will cost you ~592.62 a month.
a 27k loan for five years at 7% will cost you ~533.36 a month.

a 30k loan for five years at 5% will cost you ~566.14 a month.
a 27k loan for five years at 5% will cost you ~509.52 a month.

well, i didn't pay cash. i paid with a check. i live w/ my family, so i have very low overhead. plus, i can write it off through my company so it isn't as expensive as it seems.
