New 08 owner

I had posted a thread in the general section about which Solstice to get.

I ended up buying the 08 Cool GXP and figured I'd x-post the epilogue here.

So I got the 08 Cool GXP tonight and gave it a good workout. First I took it to my V8 Charger owner co-worker (who is always talking about his great 0-60 times) and gave him a ride. We did a couple of 0-60 runs (stupid me didn't turn off traction control) but he was impressed enough to mutter "if this ****ing thing is faster than mine, I'd going to SO pissed!!". He was VERY impressed and then I told him I've got 30-40 more hp on order (Tribeca tune!).

He just shook his head.

I then took it to co-worker #2 who is a HUGE fan of his S2000. He was incredibly impressed with the curves and lines of the car (I'm sure we all agree that the GXP makes the S2000 look rather plain!). And then I gave him a test ride and here are a few of his comments.

Me: "How's the ride? Is it too stiff? I've only had it for an hour and I don't think it's bad at all."

Him: "It's much smoother than mine, with mine you practically need a kidney belt".

Him: "Your seats are so much more cushiony".

Him: "Wow, it's really quiet, there is much less wind noise. Your top is really well lined".

<I punch it>

Him: "Listen to that turbo wind up, I LOVE that sound!!!!"

He also felt more comfortable in the GXP, he had a feeling of being enveloped in it.

Now I don't think I turned him from the dark side, but I'm sure he went home with much more respect for the GXP.
