Two color changes for 2008.

Sly is gone, but sly is back, slightly changed, new touch-up paint code WA-411P, RPO 75U. I'll search for a current match. (Dark Steel Gray on a G6) The Sky gets the same change.

Still no Bluestone for Sol, however......drumroll, please.

BRAZEN (Inferno Orange Metallic) RPO 28U touch-up code WA-502Q It is extra cost like Mean. Both new colors for '08 are available with all interior and top combos.

Rest of the changes
Deletions

Exterior color (42U) Sly (Shadow Gray Metallic)
(DT4) Regular Production Accessory, Smoker's Package

New Features

Exterior color (28U) Brazen (Inferno Orange Metallic) (Premium paint - additional charge)
Exterior color (75U) Sly (Dark Steel Gray Metallic)
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (standard on both models)

Changes

(AZ5) Premium Acoustic Headliner is now standard on both models (was available as a free flow in 2007)
StabiliTrak is now available on 2MB67 Solstice and requires (JL9) 4-wheel antilock, 4-wheel disc brakes (was not available in 2007 on 2MB67)
(UE1) OnStar is now standard on both models (was available as a free flow in 2007)
(312) is now Ebony/Sand leather seating surfaces (was Steel/Sand in 2007)
Driver Information Center is now standard on 2MB67 Solstice (was part of [ZQ3] Convenience Package in 2007)
(US8) AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback is now standard on both models (was available in 2007)
(U1C) AM/FM stereo with CD player is now included and only available with (Z0K) Club Sport Package on 2MB67 Solstice (was standard on both models in 2007)
(U2K) XM Satellite Radio is now standard on both models (was available in 2007)

With the addition of numerous features as standard expect the price of a stripped model to jump significantly. If you would have ordered these anyway, hope for a stabilization or reduction.

I like the idea of Stabilatrack being standard. I wonder if it can now be added to an 07 with ABS?

Thanks! I'm on the bubble about a 2008 GXP or wait for the Camaro in 2009.

With a wiring harness from an '08 along with control module and possibly additional sensors. I would not trust an add-on system not factory installed.

And my current best guess for the source of the Orange color is Holden's Ignition Metallic, which many expect to show up on the G8. (as soon as the G8 info appears I can confirm this hypothesis)

One other vehicle for '08 to sport this color is the Chevy Colorado. That is the only other one I could find so far.

Ron, Sunburst Orange ('06 Colorado) is a completely different color than the new for '08 Orange. Differing touchup paint says so.

Stopped by the dealership last night and they had a Sly GXP and a Dark Grey Base Sol. The dark grey goods sharp.

Man.. i was really hoping the new orange color would look like this:

I would have jumped on that in an instant.

Or is it the same color? I can't really tell the photos are showing up small on my computer.

These would have to be the Original Sly (metalic gun metal gray) and not the new Dark Steel Gray they will be offering for '08.

Although we've yet to see the new color, I suspect the it is slightly darker than the current Sly color .... which IMO will still look classic!

I would think the orange paint will be just like the one you see in the Vette picture.

Thanks, my bad. I hadn't seen a dark grey Sol yet, so when I saw the dark grey base Sol next to the light grey GXP, I thought it was the new color. Both are new at the dealership and both were automatic.

No problem .... you saw the COOL (Silver or lite gray) GXP and if you've never seen the two I can see where you might think the darker was the new color.

I own an original Sly ... can't imagine one darker .. hope it looks just as "classy"!

Do we know whether the '08 GXP will offer "light" colored interior and top options? That's what has held me back from getting the turbo vs. coupe. Thanks.

I found this GM document that goes over the updates for all 2008 GM cars. It has color swatches including the Brazen orange:

http://www.gmfleet.com/pdf/2008_car_and_truck_guide.pdf

If you compare the Solstice "Brazen" swatch to the G8 "Ignition" swatch, they aren't the same - the Brazen is more of a red color. But there is actually a picture of the Canyon using that same color code (28u) and it looks a lot like the Holden ignition color so it may be that the swatch colors are incorrect.

Picture of GMC Canyon in 28u:

I did this mock of the NA Solstice in Brazen. Maybe someone who was on the recent mecca tour trip could tell me how close it is:
