Perhaps this doesn't really count because I didn't have to order my GXP. Went to the dealership on Monday, February 4th, 2008 and had a choice of 2 Brazens, 1 Mean, 1 Aggressive, 1 Cool, or 1 Deep. They also had 1 Sly Sol and 1 Cool Sol. Drove my Brazen (it was the one in the showroom) home that same morning. The entire deal took about an hour and a half! My salesman told me that their (A. W. Golden Pontiac, Reading, PA) allocation for Solstices is one of the highest in my area.

This doesn't quite fit, since I didn't have to order - and the slow economy helped, of course. First took a look at it in late March, but it was in the showroom along with another Black Solstice. Had to wait a couple of weeks to drive it - and it was much better than I had expected. I got hooked.

Was (and am) still nervous about the Consumer Report ratings, etc., so it took a bit to decide between the '07 350Z (roadster, white, automatic, if you're interested) leftover that our dealer was cutting almost $10K off of, a Miata, or the Solstice. With the cut in price of the Z, they were all within a similar price range.

Last weekend, finally drove the Z and the Solstice again, and while the Z probably holds its value better and has a power roof, and a bit of a trunk, it simply wasn't as much fun to drive!

So here we are - new roadster, and LOUSY weather! Oh well....

But loving it, anyway!
