After dealing with my annoying dealer for almost 3 months now I decided to take action beyond the dealership. I called GM's home office and obtained the Pontiac Solstice hotline number. From this number you can check the status of your order with your order number. 1-866-778-8895. I hope this helps anyone whos had dealership issues like me.

Appreciate you sharing the phone number JoeSolstice2006. Unfortunate you had to resort to calling the Solstice hotline after your dealer has not been helpful. Did you find out good news about your order and that it will be produced/shipped in the next few weeks?

Well Im not sure if my order is going to be picked up in 06 or not...but I did manage to report the dealership Im using and complain.

The guy on the Solstice hotline didn't inspire me with much hope of ever getting my car. He told me that since I ordered my car in late Feb that there wasnt much of a chance of me getting an 06 model. I have to say Ive lost hope of ever seeing this car, Im starting not to really care. Ive come to expect that my dealer knows nothing, and will never call me to give me an update.

Joe, you should review the history on site and you'll find
1. the length of time you have been waiting is not out of the ordinary
2. the way allocations work and that a dealer cannot just "pick up the phone" and order the next car off the line
3. dealers only get status reports once a week and the salesmen on the floor usually don't see them

Now, any other jerking around the dealer did to you gives you a right to be furious.

Such as over MSRP, upcharge for stuff you didn't order, etc. Or not placing your order into the 2007's if you don't get an 06 (but they cannot do that yet)

Yeah I have the right to be furious when the dealer told me in Feb that it takes 5 to 6 weeks and then didnt call me back for two months. It makes me more furious that the SALES MANAGER knows nothing and acts like Im wasting his time when I ask about the car every 15 to 20 days...or when they say they'll call me back to give me information once their new reports come in and simply do not call. They were quick to tell me the car would be here ASAP when I was making out a check to them, but once they had my money they stopped caring.

I ordered my Solstice the first week of March and was told that it would be a 6 to 8 week wait. Then there were the constaints on the chrome wheels. I was never told that each dealership had allocations. I knew nothing of that until I check out this forum. I am now being told that my car is scheduled for production the week of the 29th, but I am not holding my breath. I was extremely excited at the prospect of owning my first two seater convertible and now that the weather is getting nice I am getting very frustrated and feel as you, that I may never see this car. Can someone out there give us some kind of hope?
