I actually saw a real restored 427 Shelby Cobra last night in Poulsbo, WA. It was red with two white racing stripes and dual exhausts on the sides that vented out just in front of the rear tires and she was BEAUTIFUL! I had my camera and didnt even take a picture. Ida loved to be the owner of that car.
Location: Yuba City, California .... The BIG Cowpie!

Sadly, I think you are right. On 1st read, I thought it had a 427 under the hood. If this is just a base Miata with a Cobra front end, then.... Boo! Hiss. Boo!
I thought "Monster Miata" by definition meant a V8 conversion? What gives? This is just a pretender.

I thought this had an 8 cylendar as well, but what would it do with that power and such small tires?
I wonder if it does have an 8 if they've stiffened the frame a bit
