When they claim 480HP to the flywheel, when we all know now thats impossible, but hey, besdies the fact that i'm a Nissan freak and cant wait to when I can get a GT-R myself. everybody should be real happy about this big lie...
A number of Dyno's where done by many entities after realizing that no way in life a GT-R only has 480HP.
Another lie im dying to see is when the GT-R V Spec comes out, when it claims that its supposed to have around 550HP and in reality it will have over 600HP...

I really like the gtr, and I think it is one of the best cars to mod for speed. Having said that, what happened at Nurburgring is no different than a solstice with a tune and nice tires racing in a stock class. It isnt ethical and unfair.
The gtr, being awd, is more around 20-25% drivetrain loss, so 560-570hp???!?! Thats 100hp difference. I know they are under rated, but I doubt any gtrs sold will match those numbers. I think that time they posted should be put under the modded car section and not stock and the vspec be under more watch when it is ran.
I have seen many races already with the gtr, including some in person, and they are not anywhere close to the level of the car ran at Nurburg. Every race ive seen against a c6 zo6 the gtr has lost, yet it posted 1 second slower than a zr1 on a track as fast as Nurburg?
And the difference a tire type makes is huge!
I think Porsche is jealous, and Nissan is unethical.

I agree with you pretty much all they way, it makes since but one thing is that all people meaning motortrend, autoblog among many others that have gotten GT-R to Dyno them all gotten around the same numbers. So what are we saying here, that some GT-R are tuned different depending to who is buying then? Because if the ones people are buying out there really have 560-570HP like they are dynoing, no way in life a Z06 can even touch it, but then again what is really happening out there, is kinda hard to know. Who knows...?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Ill let you guys know when i get my GT-R whenever that may be...lol

While I love the GT-R I do think it is wrong that they incorrectly label it at 480. It gives a false sense that they are doing way more with less. They should just say it has 550 hp.
I think you guys are missing the point: Porsche can not closely replicate Nissan's Ring times while driving a stock Nissan GTR. They're assuming some slick tires were used.
550 horspower or 480, it sure is nice to see the ZO6 spanking the GTR on Youtube. ZO6s new were selling for $65K last week!
Which reminds me, where did the race video go that showed the GXPs beating, Evos, STIs, Fbodys?

That solstice had to be modded up or the evo had driver error. He had him from the line...
Im just basing this off factory hp/tq for each car
Great video but I'm thinking of the rad racing vid, the three yellow/black GXPs race by and then the 350Zs, STis, Evos, race by. It's kind of funny. 350Zboy do you remember?

A lot of the car companies in the 70's were doing that. The 70 Chevelle SS was rated at 450 hp, when it was pushing more like 500-550hp. They did it to get into the lower race class and to also help the buyers in that the insurance didn't cost as much.

Wow, some people are quick to judge. LOL! Why should we automatically take Porsche's side? Mags are saying the a Japanese company, which NEVER was a competitor to Porsche, just kicked their butts on the first try. Sure, Porsche has no reason to lie here. LOL!
Maybe their driver sucked or they intentionally drove slow. Ever consider that possibility?

I am not really taking Porsche's side, but why would we assume Nissan kicked their butt either? If a truly stock GT-R cannot come close to the time Nissan claims they achieved, then Nissan is playing games to make the GT-R look better than it is.
If they really were kicking butt and taking names, why not just let the stock car stand on it's merits?
I saw a Motor trend I think it was that had a handling test and the Audi R8 and the GTR where very close to one another in handling. The GTR was faster in a straight line though. With that said the Viper ACR killed them both. I'm thinking Nissan did some tinkering with the car they used at the ring.

I think Porsche is just calling them out on this.
And I think Porsche is just trying to save face (and customers). I just find it funny that most everyone here automatically takes the side of Porsche as if the Japanese are not capable of taking them down. I also find it funny that other mags have proved the cars performance using various cars from pre-pro's to production models. That said, my money would go to Porsche simply because they are the marque that got me into cars in the first place. But that sentiment doesn't make me blind to other cars or somehow make me think that Porsche is right. They have a lot at stake here.

seriously? when you first posted only one person had even remotely taken porsche's side.
25 seconds is just quite a large number and definitely news worthy.
As more production GTRs roll out more will be known (as with the transmission maintenance schedule and sign-oifs)
