Currently, no internal plans for such a car. That could change, but I am sure GM will tread lightly with what they do with the Corvette. Sell enough Volts, and they can keep stuffing V8's in Corvettes.
Personally, with oil at less then $50 per barrel and the economy in the tank, I don't think many people will be willing to pay over $40,000 for a sub-compact electric car. GM already tried it from 1996 to 1999 when the economy was booming. The project was discontinued in 2003 because they could not make it profitable. I wonder if GM management has ever entertained the thought of expanding Corvette sales to a wider demographics, especially foreign markets, by offering potential new customers an alternative choice of a higher efficiency, lower CO2 emitting, smaller and lighter V6 in a proven sports car like the Corvette -seeing that market has not been very impressed with their current I-4 turbo Opel GT and Daewoo G2X sports car offering.
Will you stop with the V6s!!!! Every post on this forum you make always leads to V6s. If you like V6s so much then go get one but enough!
Sorry, just trying to help GM become a leader instead of a follower. Audi is already doing it. They are replacing their V8 powered S4, RS4, and S5 with more fuel-efficient, lower exhaust emissions, broader torque range, lighter Eaton forced induction V6.
I guess things will never change. Leaders will always win and followers will always cryout for a bailout.

Who brought this thread back and why, it’s just more incessant speaking from Blau who does not care about GM but would rather glorify everything Audi at GM’s expense.

Ummm, we are in a thread about the possibility of them putting a V6 in the Corvette, so him saying it here isn't really all that off base and in actuality on topic.

This thread was started by blau so it is our own faults for responding. But yes it is unlike the usual victimized-thread that can start out as any topic but quickly turns into one of the following:
Audi TT this/that
Audi R8 this/that
BMW/Pontiac/ or anything sucks compared to Audi.
Mallett won’t install a V6 in my Sol
Audi 2.0T has a lot less power then the LNF because Audi wants a more reliable engine
I’ve never driven a GXP but I’m sure a number of overpriced/underperforming Audis are better
Audi sales increase vs GM sales decrease
Solstice would sell better with a V6
V6s are better then straight 6s, V8s, turbo 4s, jet turbines, etc…
GTR has a V6
And now we’ve come full circle with…
Corvette should have a V6.
Damn Motor Trend for their stupid V6 Sting Ray kappa article!!!

In case you have not read, there is no possiblility of a V-6 in the corvette its been stated time and time again. He just keeps on bringing this up. I fell victim just for responding.

As a life long corvette owner, I could say I would never consider a corvette with a V-6, a straight 6 or any kind of a 6.
Corvettes had a 6 once and that was enough.
I still have a corvette it has a 6 but it's an LS-6.
Blau's opinions notwithstanding, I wager that your point of view, bee guz, that a life long Corvette owner would not want a V-6 Corvette, supercharged, turbocharged, twincharged or normally aspirated, PERIOD. You gotta respect Blau's persistence however. He can keep posting his wishlist for a V-6 Solstice. It is amazing logic to me. But, he has an opinion and we should respect it. If this DI V-6 was GM's savior, I suspect they'd have ditched the corporate jets long ago and put this engine in just about every car line. That way, we would not need to be bailing out GM for sure.

Please Blau. Take BaldTurboFreak up on this offer. You might even find a crated 3.6DI V-6 LLT for a very good price with GM hurting as bad as they are. When you get it installed, send a nice email or letter to your friend Mr. Lutz letting him know that he has missed the boat with the LNF and should market a DI V-6 for the solstice beginning mid-2009. He'll want to do this, of course.
