Wow I read a couple of the posts in that link and thats rediculous. How dare Nissan put things on the car and use them as a selling point and then say theyll void the warrenty. What amazes me the most are the people in that thread defending the fact that Nissan sold them a feature that breaks the car. I just lost a whole lotta respect for the GTR and Nissan.

Nope...he hasn't figured it out yet (I asked...can't blame a guy for trying!). But it was a rocket without it...I can only imagine what the launch control would do!

launch control and warranty? - Nissan GTR Club.com - The 2009 Nissan GT-R R35 Owners' Community & Forums (established 2006)

Wow, that is total BS! You turn off the VDC and if anything happens they void your warrantee. What a piece of crap car, you use the launch control four times and they void your warrantee! I can't believe that. The transmission fails after you use launch control 10 times. I always thought the GT-R was just a 4,000 pound AWD G35 coupe with an overboosted engine, now I know it's a piece of crap as well.

I chuckled at some of those smug responses in that thread, "Well the GT-R is a race car, not a drag car." What you really mean is that the GTR needs launch control to beat out it's competition (9-11, ZO6), but if you push the button that the car came with more then 10 times you have a good chance of destroying the transmission.

Can you imagine the dealer voiding your power train warrantee because you turned off the traction control! in your Solsice?

I knew Nissan couldn't build a supercar. Give me a ZO6 and I'll beat the hell out of it everyday and GM will still honor the warrentee.

also see the post about 3.5 in the 1/4? BS Maybe 0-60 or did Nissan figure a way to hide a real motor under thehood that can make 6000HP? The only ones I know of are in NHR Top Fuel.

Ok so to get 3.5 in the 0 to 60 Nissan uses a feature if you try voids warrenty? Super car or trick?

Shrug. Can't say I'm at all surprised. All the Japanese manufacturers do this. Mitsubishi did this with the Evo. They actually ENCOURAGED people to Track/Autocross their Evos, then voided their warranties when the cost of fixing under-built/under-designed transmissions started coming in. Honda encouraged people to go offroading in their Ridgelines. Then, when the "soft-road" suspensions started failing, they started backing away from repairs. Toyota and Nissan are both guilty of doing this with their pickups. Toyota likes to advert how "tough" the new Tundra is, but I have seen pictures of crumpled tailgates where the guy only tried to load a single 4-wheeler or golf-cart in back. (Tailgate only rated to 300 lbs or so.)

What really gets me are the idiots who are screaming that it's "fair" for Nissan to do this. One bozo over there keeps whining that the car "wasn't built for 18 year olds". Ok, but don't advertise the feature, pal. GM advertises no-lift-shift on their Cobalt SS turbo, and they don't have any sneak, sneaky warranty clause about it. My solution: I'll never buy one. I'd never use 'launch-control' to beat on the car on a daily basis, but I'm bothered by the fact that they chose to make available a "feature" that breaks the car. What ELSE aren't they telling us?

this place doesn't have that ability but you shouldn't leave pics isolated to one forum and not retrievable anywhere else.

I use a centralized (free) image host so I can always have access to images for the web (it's a big place).

photobucket.com or flikr.com are great image hosting places.

I use ImageShack® - Image Hosting

It's great and easy. Just select the photo you wanna upload but has to be less than 1.53MB. After that, you'll see where it says "Hotlink for Forums" Just copy that and paste it here and you're done
