7000 miles and Pinion seal, window switch only problems....dealer installed CAI/CATBack and lighter. Tires rotated at 6K oil change. Delivered 12/15/05...been rained on twice since then and no leaks...wipers have never been used. No sagging on the cloth seats at all. Lots of chips on facia and one small hood chip/dent... dirt road livin'. Top's down most every day to and from work...love those AZ "winters"...about 200 times and there's no issues with mechanism. Interior looks brand new as I never use anything except water to clean. All in all a great first year car.... just my $.02

I've only had the rear pinion seal leak problem. That happened around 3500 miles. The dealer fixed it and no problems since. I hope it stays that way. I have now put 5600 miles on her and that's everyday to and from work driving. I love every minute of driving, but this is also my first sportscar and my first convertable so I'm still too blindly in love to notice any other problems.

My dealer called me to have my solstice checked to see if coolant is leaking into the transmission. The service manager said some transmissions had to be replaced that were damaged. Has anyone else been contacted ?

Here is a link to the same poll on the Sky site that was used here. I wish I had known more about the wheel rub issue I would have included on this poll. Did / Do we have many owners here with that issue?

I could also hear squeaking noise in the trunk if the top is down. A forum member told me to put a felt on one of the hinges on the top but I forgot where. I'll try to figure that out one of these days.

I took it to the closest Pontiac dealership on my neighborhood to complain about audio pop but they said they have never even heard of this problem, even after I showed them the bulletin. I've also read some postings here that even after the software upgrade was done to their radio, the pop was still there.

I have 1200 Miles on my Sol

Vin # 2726. I checked no problems because I have none due to build issues. Originally it made a weird noise, clunk maybe? between 1st and 2nd gear, took it to dealer and they said nothing was wrong with it. Now about 5,000 kms later no sound.

However, I do have an issue with the inferior quality of the interior - specifically the doors. Twice I put a little dent in the beige part (2 tone) of drivers side, almost looks like a pin prick, must have been with my key in left hand and getting in. The material is soft and spongy. Also hard to keep clean. The second time I put 2 duck crossing/highway type signs (don't ask....) and went to place them on the passengers seat, but the edge put a couple long scratches on passenger door (grey pebbly, hard surface) and a little rip in the vinyl handle by the ER brake. I didn't force it in, it was almost like paper. Made me sick to see what I did. There is a local place called Dr. Vinyl that I was referred to fix it and hopefully will be repaired.

Re: performance, I changed oil when 10% was left and went with synthetic. Performed way better. Then added the magnaflow catback exhaust and it is more responsive and sounds throatier, less whimpy.

I love my Sol. I now have 14,500 km's - put 2,200 on last week going to Mt. Washington. It was awesome on the twisty roads, handling is superb. Sol makes any drive fun. I got a personalized plate - KICKING, it means a few things to me, including that this car is KICKING!
