Now that 2006 model year is almost in the books let's gather some anonymous data from SF members on their overall satisfaction rating of their 2006 Solstice. This will give our friends at GM a sense of how 2006 held up. This poll is for 2006 Solstice owners only, thanks. Feel free to add comments appropriate to the item being polled.
Since we can only do 1 poll per thread this will be a series of polls that will be cross linked. This first one is the overall satisfaction poll (might want to come back here after the detailed ones).
All rankings will be on scale of 1-10 with 1 being least satisfied and 10 being most satisfied.
You should rank your satisfaction against other cars of same class so for example don't give interior capacity a 1 because it doesn't hold as much as your Yukon Also please rank to expected satisfaction of cars in same price range so we get an apples to apples comparison and not against something like Porsche for example.
I am truly tickled pink every time I get in it - so overall, I gave it a 10
Which doesn't mean there aren't a few things they could have done better -
1 - the driver's door armrest rubs me the wrong way, too hard.
2 - would like the drivers seat to adjust a little higher (I know they fixed that for '07).
3 - too many F#*%ing chips in the paint
4 - a few more ponies wouldn't hurt
One other thing (that I've been beaten up for sugesting in the past - so don't bother) a power release latch, operated from the key fob, for the top. This would do two things - in addition to cutting down on the number of times I have to (awkwardly) reach back into the car to latch/unlatch the top - it would prevent people from bending the latch arm.

I agree...but I would go a step further and have the windows automatically roll down when the top releases. Uhh...I guess it wouldn't work if you didn't opt for the power package though.....
Since I got my new baby, I have not stopped smilin Love everything about her, overall rating is a definite 10! Don't mind the top, got caught in the rain and in less than 10 seconds, she was protected, not like the Caddy in front of me waiting for the ELECTRIC top to come up!

I gave it a 9, which I think is fair. I had the Diff leak, but that was fixed, and everything is just fine now.
26 months later, It's just amazing how beautiful the car is for the money, and it's worth just about what I paid for it.
Just an amazing vehicle.

This car has been in the shop 16 times. The rear diff has been replaced three times now, just got it back yesterday after 2 weeks in the shop. Has probably spent 3 to 4 months in shop total. Body panels not lining up, window seals leaking, floor leaked, a quarter panel was replaced before we even bought the car, window power motors went bad, drains for top in trunk keep coming loose, top release latch had to be replaced twice, trunk wasn't lined up right, inside door handles came loose, inside door panels just got replaced, and we just noticed that the outside handles are now loose. So it's going back to the shop in the morning. Yes, they know us by name and I believe have our phone numbers memorized!
That little "1st 1000" plate on the dash don't seem so special now.
