2006 Survey: Overall Satisfaction [and instructions]

Now that 2006 model year is almost in the books let's gather some anonymous data from SF members on their overall satisfaction rating of their 2006 Solstice. This will give our friends at GM a sense of how 2006 held up. This poll is for 2006 Solstice owners only, thanks. Feel free to add comments appropriate to the item being polled.

Since we can only do 1 poll per thread this will be a series of polls that will be cross linked. This first one is the overall satisfaction poll (might want to come back here after the detailed ones).

All rankings will be on scale of 1-10 with 1 being least satisfied and 10 being most satisfied.

You should rank your satisfaction against other cars of same class so for example don't give interior capacity a 1 because it doesn't hold as much as your Yukon Also please rank to expected satisfaction of cars in same price range so we get an apples to apples comparison and not against something like Porsche for example.

I am truly tickled pink every time I get in it - so overall, I gave it a 10

Which doesn't mean there aren't a few things they could have done better -

1 - the driver's door armrest rubs me the wrong way, too hard.

2 - would like the drivers seat to adjust a little higher (I know they fixed that for '07).

3 - too many F#*%ing chips in the paint

4 - a few more ponies wouldn't hurt

One other thing (that I've been beaten up for sugesting in the past - so don't bother) a power release latch, operated from the key fob, for the top. This would do two things - in addition to cutting down on the number of times I have to (awkwardly) reach back into the car to latch/unlatch the top - it would prevent people from bending the latch arm.

I agree...but I would go a step further and have the windows automatically roll down when the top releases. Uhh...I guess it wouldn't work if you didn't opt for the power package though.....

Smilin'

Since I got my new baby, I have not stopped smilin Love everything about her, overall rating is a definite 10! Don't mind the top, got caught in the rain and in less than 10 seconds, she was protected, not like the Caddy in front of me waiting for the ELECTRIC top to come up!

Doing pretty good overall, mostly 9's and 10's so far. Don't forget to vote in the sub-polls listed in first post. Each sub-poll has links to all.

I gave it a 9, which I think is fair. I had the Diff leak, but that was fixed, and everything is just fine now.

26 months later, It's just amazing how beautiful the car is for the money, and it's worth just about what I paid for it.

Just an amazing vehicle.

I gave it a 9 out of 10.......I love my car, but, HP and the interior design could have been better. I'll turn 30,000 miles in about two more weeks

Looks good, engine runs good, everything else...

This car has been in the shop 16 times. The rear diff has been replaced three times now, just got it back yesterday after 2 weeks in the shop. Has probably spent 3 to 4 months in shop total. Body panels not lining up, window seals leaking, floor leaked, a quarter panel was replaced before we even bought the car, window power motors went bad, drains for top in trunk keep coming loose, top release latch had to be replaced twice, trunk wasn't lined up right, inside door handles came loose, inside door panels just got replaced, and we just noticed that the outside handles are now loose. So it's going back to the shop in the morning. Yes, they know us by name and I believe have our phone numbers memorized!

That little "1st 1000" plate on the dash don't seem so special now.

Gave it a 5 Cuz the 9's and 10's were canceled out by the 1's and 2's.
TENS:
Handling (better than my ol' 280Z even after I'd spent 25% of it's new cost on suspensions upgrades)
Looks (if I had gone with the MX5 I doubt I'd still be getting strangers complementing my cars in parking lots)
NINES:
Ride: (for a car that handles so well, it's hard to beat the comfortable ride)
Fun Factor: (Never had a convertible but I will always have one from now on)
FIVES:
Trunk: (It's big enough for my needs)
Fit and Finish: (Hey it could be worse)
TWOS:
Early issue issues: (You could almost tell what month a car was made by which problem got addressed.
ONES:
Clunks: (Got them from the tranny, from both rear wheels, from the front brakes and more)
Squeaks, creeks: (Top when its up, both rear view mirrors, "somewhere under the dash")
Leaks: (Trunk still fills with water if left out in the rain, Passenger side window now only has a wind leak but the dealer finally fixed the sunshine and rain leak)

But these are all just 2006 problems. I never had a car until now that I wanted to trade in on another just like it only newer. And they now offer 50% more power!!!!

Gave the car a strong 7. It is the wifes daily driver and she would probably give it a 9. She is very happy with it still after a little more than two years. We had the differential replaced this week, the only problem we have had with the car. I love the handling and ride is amazingly comfortable. My only complaint is the power shortage. Great little car, first convertible but definately not the last. Now on to the other surveys.
