How about "No antenna." I'd prefer mine in the windsheild like the Corvette.
Having asked that very question myself, the windshield antennas are apparantly very expensive compared to the standard mast type. So if we have to live with one I'd at least like to live with a smaller one. Once I get a Coupe I'll have 3 long masts collecting dust on my parts shelf.

Exactly correct. The development costs more, as each one is specifically engineered. The windscreen itself costs more due to the wiring, the terminals, and the hand work that has to be done to allow for them. The installation costs more. Replacement parts cost more, and windscreens are the most commonly replaced piece of glass in the car. Reception is also less reliable.

Well this poll has been up for two weeks now (only 1 week at SkyRoadster), and I really hope someone at GM is paying attention since that was the point of all of this.
Wasn't thre Opel windscreen tougher too because of the higher speeds? That is what my tour guide said in the factory tour. I would have spring for one of those from the factory since I hate getting rock chips on the windscreen.
How about the waterfal without the !@#$%^&*() cup holder? Hate it
Definitely would have gotten the brakes had they been offered. Went the smallest antenna I could find -- use AM and FM radio about 2-3% of the time if that, most IPOD with PAL mixed with XM.
I heard from a GM engineer that the waterfal cup holder will not be on the production 2009's. Seems they have gotten all negative feedback on it and of course it will save them $$ if they got rid of it.

I suspect that either your guide was misinformed, or you misunderstood his comment. ECE43 and FMVSS205 are pretty much the same except for light transmission. The safety standards are pretty much identical.

It's on 2009 MY Solstice Convertibles, the 2009 MY Solstice Coupe will NOT have the waterfall cup holder though.
Just ordered an antenna today! This should be on all the cars, but I would like to know why there is a difference in the Opel vs Sol. It better not just be for cost savings...
Regarding the pads, I think all GXPs and ZOKs should get perf brakes. Base models should get normal pads.
Good tires should be optional, I for one, would have bought them. Those of us in nice climates can use them year round.
I would not want to see the cupholders go...if I have a passenger, they are the only option without interfering with the passenger's leg.

I wish I was offered the summer only tires when I purchased. I would've jumped at that. The antenna isn't a big issue for me. The brakes that come with the car are best ones (of all the cars I've ever owned) and have already saved me a couple of times.
