I purchased one of the Jay Windscreens off E-bay and when I got it it had a chrome piece of rubber door edge molding over the top of it, I did not know it had this when I placed the order and I thought it looked real tacky and when I removed it I realized that the reason the guy put these on there is to cover up the ruff edges along the top. It had to have been cut out with a jig saw from a template or something because the left side was not the same as the right side. Also he should include some longer screws with it because using my factory screws to mount it they were not long enough due to the think ness of the windscreen. I did not think it was worth 80.00! Actually I didn't even want it on my beautiful car. So....

I place an order with the Kappa company for one of there windscreen shields and paid a little bit more for a much better product. I think the Kappa shield is great for blocking the wind. I wanted to have SOLSTICE engraved into it and thought about hooking a light to the edge to make it glow, I got this idea from a listing off E-bay that has illuminated etched wind blockers for sale. The shape of them looks just like the Kappa ones and I thought I would be able to save some money and make my own that illuminated. Well I took it and spend 65.00 having a engraver shop do the art work and then I spent 25.00 on a small neon light and glued it to the bottom of it and I just couldn't get it to light up much less could I get the trunk to close! I found out that the Lexan that Kappa uses, the edges can not be polished due to the material and there for you cant make them illuminate. So after spending hundreds of dollars trying to make mine light up with a logo on it I failed and decided to go ahead and order the one off the E-bay listing under " illuminated Solstice" I got it in 3 days and it was EXACTLY what I wanted! The quality is the best out of all 3 wind blockers I ordered. The quality of the material used is awesome and extremely scratch resistant. The design could not be any better. I used to get a lot of looks with my Solstice but now I can not believe the attention it gets! I have had a few people stop me and ask where I got it I love it!!! It cost me a lot trying to make my own and could not get it right this guy has perfected the design and it is the most awesome accessory I have seen yet. I was thinking about mounting some red lights under the dash and seats to give off a red shadow to match the windscreen I will try and list photos when I get this done too!

I have been emailing the person who makes the Illuminated Windscreen that is listed on Ebay. Found out he is in Dallas - I will be in Dallas next month - I will be going by his shop to take a close look at his windscreens. If they look good I will bring one home with me.

Let me know what you think. I've been considering that windscreen, but I hesitate without knowing a bit more about it...quality wise....

I bought mine off eBay from guy named Robert in Dallas Texas. He will custom etch any design you want into it and it lights up at night. Totally Awesome. If you haven't seen these yet, check them out. Look sooo much better than the Pontiac Tennis Racket.

Well got my kappashield via Fedex today and I am very glad I spent the extra 10 bucks for it as it came with a very slick case to kep it in bobbins and longer screws to make it easy on removal and installation. It was out of the box and installed on the car in less than 10mins. The lil chromies were very easy to install too.

I got mine from Rob in Dallas to off his E-bay listing. I couldn't ask for more it really adds the finishing touch to my red Solstice. I contacted him and told him about the forum and that Solstice owners are discussing his product and he told me he is working on getting a site up with all his designs. I personally ordered a illuminated red one with a solstice drawing and solstice under it and love it but I found out that he also does custom etchings and colors! He is even coming out with one that illuminates in PINK! He was nice enough to offer an exchange of the one he sent me for a custom etched one with my business name and phone number I cant wait to park in front of the local mall with it on there I expect I will get a lot of good advertisement this way.

Robert in Dallas is definitely the way to go!! He will bend over backwards to please you. His company is GlowPlates and he's currently listing his stuff on eBay. Definitely give him a holler and let him hook you up. I ordered mine with the Pontiac Arrowhead crest and the word SOLSTICE underneath it. When the top is up, the Arrowhead is still visible through the back window. Looks awesome. I work for the Tulsa Police 911 center and I thought about ordering a second screen with my Public Safety Badge etched into it and TULSA 911 printed on it. Whatever you want, Robert can deliver.

Yes! this is the guy I got my wind blocker "wind resistor" from to. I did not realize that he did custom etching until recently. I think that would look really cool with the badge on it and illuminated. Please if you get this done, post photos! My fiance is a fire fighter here in Organ and I let him drive my car sometime to special events etc. I think that a wind blocker etched with the fire fighter logo would look so awesome illuminated in red on my red Solstice. The possibilities are endless with this!

Don't know if you have a windscreen yet, but I purchased a clear windscreen through EBay for $89.00 including shipping and handling that went on without the slightest problem.

Awesome...a local guy is coming to drop me his windscreen off to me tomorrow. It's the kappasphere one. $50 used. Couldn't beat the deal!! So they only are functional if the windows are up??
