Hello all... Glad to be back!!!

I have ironed out the Supporting Vendor issues and have been cleared for take off!!!

SO...

I would like to introduce myself and the product I manufacture.

My name is Brent and I manufacture custom decorative vent covers for the Pontiac Solstice front fender "vent indent".

Right now we are doing the classic hexagon pattern, but I have many ideas in the pipeline some of which come from Solstice owners. I always like to get new concept ideas.

Please take a look at the product and feel free to PM me here or e-mail me at the address listed on the website.

http://www.vansdesigns.com/page10.html

Looking forward to working with as many of the forum members as possible to bring a custom splash to the side of your Solstice!!!

Welcome aboard Brent,
Great idea; IMHO $40 is a bit too steep for it as pictured on your website.
However if it's made of better quality polymer, I'll pay $40.

Well I originally had the price figured at $50... I am always looking to improve processes, get price breaks on materials and drive down costs. Right now these are basically a custom manufacturing process. There is considerable time involved in the layout and precision positioning of the product during the cutting. The equipment required to cut these is not cheap either :-)

There are a few members out here that have them. So far I have not received any complaints about what they have received for their money.

I would appreciate more input from everyone pro & con... It is the only way I can figure out what I am doing right and wrong for my customers.

Thanks

Brent, you have made the mod picture index!!! What an honor! This might help you with sales some (it has with others).

If you would like to see the mod picture index, click on the link in my signature.

Have you considered getting your grills chromed? I might be interested in a chromed set... professionally chromed. See Devildog's or TCASON's work on the grills for ideas.

Chrome is definately an interest... I have actually had more requests for Silver/Brushed Aluminum color like the accent color on all of the cars... but I have had my chrome fans and I hate to dissappoint!!! I have reached out to a couple vendors to try to work a deal on chroming... still waiting for a response... BUT the Silver/Brushed aluminum is in the works now!!!

I assume the silver brushed is what we see on the website link page correct? I think this is an very interesting product for sure and think the sticker faux vent makes the product more appealing but the first thing that is coming to my mind and would need to be addressed is how will one clearn behind the faux vent, since no doubt road grim will accumulate in there and the best you will be able to do is spray the heck out of it but not dry it might end up being a dirt trap.

Any thoughts around this Brent? Also welcome and thanks for stepping up and being a supporting vendor! Based on some of your other product catagories on your website I think you have an opportunity to bring to market other products that us crazy sol owners might want.

That's great, Brent! I've been interested since your first post. Glad you're official now!
I'm definitely in, but for either the silver or chrome for my Mysterious.

Well guys I appreciate all the well wishes and the interest...

Cleaning... It is a thought we have pondered and I did leave a gap in the adhesive right at the bottom tip to allow drainage after washing... We had some thoughts of hook and loop attachment, but I could not get it to hold fast... In trying to make the vent as trim as possible I left myself with a very small attaching surface...

What I noticed (and can only go on my theroy here) is that after Dad drove his across country, washed, and returned is that there really wasen't much build up inside... After some thought I came down to the Pontiac emblem right in front of it... Guessing it deflects the wind out around it...

I am firing up the paint gun this weekend to hit some sets with silver, so stand by the web site and as soon as they are dry they will be there for purchase!!!

Thank you to all who encouraged me to keep going and become a Vendor... even if I never make a dime I have met some pretty neat people... and I don't even own a Solstice!!! But get to admire my Dad's on a regular basis!!!

Take care all... and keep the post comming... I read them and take everything I can into consideration when making the next designs...

Brent

People with upcoming GXP's will probably leave it black to match the black grills in the car.
