THE 2010 Road Mapping Thread

OK....here's what we've got...

a lot of re-mapping and new mapping to be done
and yes...it'll take a year.

Feel free to post WHEN YOU CAN COME TO OHIO FOR TRAINING
and we'll schedule a training session around you - where possible

Right now here's what we have potentially

May 30th.... New mapping short run
June 6th...555 truncated run (west of i-77)
July 4th weekend...open for any training (incl Amish mapping)

Feel free to post any suggestions or whatever.

you'll probably be an asset once the mapping is done...you can plot the whole thing so all R C's will have the routes exactamundo on their Garmins

July 4th could be a good weekend for me....depending on the weekend if somebody is willing to grab me at the airport I can fly out there too since it's hard to take off too much time to make the drive there and back...well that's if somebody is willing to let me ride passenger.

I guess i better get back there before Natasha starts cheating on me. ;-)

Actually, i can scout and train this time around. I had good teachers and spent a lot of time sniffing new roads in the area (as opposed to skirts as expected).

First attempt at mapping THE SHORT RUN is Saturday may 30th.

all interested parties meet at the Speedway in N-town at 9:30...
discussions will be held...maps given out.....

We'll do the first attempt 10-12 (or longer if we get messed up)
Lunch ...then back out to either re-map or proof the first run.

If we still aren't sold on it...we'll do it again 06-06-09

Obviously I am in. Can you shoot me a map ahead of time? I may come down the night before and do some scouting.

We are mapping because there is no route.

So here is your assignment

Presume the following is true

#1...Start at mm71 on I77 (that is the start of SR751)
that is 7 miles north of the N-town exit

follow 751 down into W Lafayette.(crosses 36)
.turn left (South) on 93....
Follow 93 till you see the split for 83...take 83 to 662
Take 662 south to 209...Turn left onto 209 and follow it
East to SR 658...turn left (North) on 658 and follow it
to Bird's run and SR 541.

Now the challenge....

You want to end up at the River Road on 258 (that's right at I-77 overpass )

your job is to get from Bird's Run up to River road.... hopefully via the west side of I-77

There are a variety of roads.

Early Rd
Guernsey Valley...
Post boy....
8th St/Johnson Hill

you get the idea

The idea is to TRY to dump out onto 258 either at the biker bar or closer to the river so we can get onto River road and then to Pt. Washington and back to the highway.

If you get some scouting time you could save us time on Saturday.
