WOW!!! I am amazed that yu came out with no broken bones, or head trauma, after seeing those pics. GLAD to hear that you are okay ... the car can be replaced, but there is only 1 Dengel.

solsticetime : ....Seeing this and hearing the other tales of unintentional slip and slide makes me think it's the stock tires. Maybe they fit, look good, made a sweet deal with GM.. but don't perform safe enough on loose and wet roads.
........

I'd even go far to suggest to anyone who's still on stock wheels and tires... to NEVER push their limits on a public road. We've seen and heard a lot of bad mojo in regards.

A few suggestions to consider prior to an aggressive run...
Lower your tires psi by 3. Use Stickier rubber. Don't drive like that in the wet. Lower your car. etc.
But in my opinion, Stock Sols should just cruise casually and enjoy the scenery/ride.

Diane said that she took the turn wide and got into the gravel. Not much that any tire could do in those circumstances. Also, it was not wet when the incident occurred.

If you change the tires, wheels, brakes, lower the car, etc, what you are doing is raising the car's limits. Pushing them is a risk on public roads regardless of how high they are or how they got there.

I completely disagree with lowering the tire pressures for road driving.

Just cruise casually ? I don't think so. There is a very wide range of driving between cruising and pushing the limits, and I think that most of us know the difference between prudent limits and performance limits.

We've not met Diane, but I will add to everyone else's statements and say that I am very glad that you are OK.

Hey babes. First off I am happy as you are for you to be alive. You know what saved you was an angel that you have had since you became a sweet Dengel. Yes you do know how to drive and I want to see you back in the drivers seat and hair flying again. The Lord GOD does not give a lot of second chances and you have been blessed by one. Do not squander it and think of what is best for you to do. May you not hurt or ache too much and may the good GOD bless you again and again....Skip....

Very well said JR, very well said! Thank you .... remember - all of us, even prudent drivers have "fluke" accidents.

Judge not .....

Dengel,

I am not ashamed to admit, that when I read what happened, and saw the pictures, I shed more than just one tear. They were tears of grief, happiness, and thankfullness.
I also extend to you wishes of a quick recovery.

Joe

With the collapse of the WS, I'd bet no survivors. GM didn't a tuff car, your Guardian Angel
arrived in the nick of time to prevent the inevitable. Prayers you recover from this mentally & physically.

First question is How in the aitch e double hockey sticks did you make it out of there?! Second question is who am I to question THAT?! Thank God you are OK and stand witness to the Sol's cocoon-like strength. Except for the windshield frame...thought it was stronger than that...

You are showing the right spirit though! Get back on that horse and ride 'im. Thanks for the reminder of our mortality and how we all do need each other. Vaya con Dios...
