OK,

Here's the latest update - The long range weather forecast is looking great for the Holiday weekend - Saturn of Danbury is going to be providing Dogs and drinks at their site and a tour of the new facility - There will also be some Saturn freebies given out so don't miss it!

"T" and I did a ride over the weekend on my planned ride up to Hopkins Inn on Lake Waramaug and many of the roads that I had planned to take were under construction. Rte202 and Rte109 and the traffic was horrendous.

Candlewood Lake might be an alternative. It's only about a 1-1/2 hour ride - See Google map below.

It won't be too fast a run as I'm sure there will be a lot of people at the Lake for the holiday weekend. The posted speeds are mostly 25 mph, but it is a pretty ride.

from:84 Federal Road, Danbury, CT 06810 to:Federal Rd @41.433492, -73.411525 to:Candlewood Lake Rd S @41.514671, -73.439369 to:Sullivan Rd @41.533720, -73.425070 to:Candlewood Lake Rd N @41.558402, -73.437530 to:CT-39 @41.531790, -73.479430 to:41.440

If everyone is up for a 3 hour ride and I can find alternatives but don't want to make it too late for those of you coming from a distance.

Yahoo!!!! I am finally on the same page. Please don't turn the page until I am there too. I would love to get together again. We had a good time, didn't we. I am always ready to have fun. What ever you all want to do with me is ok. Life Is Good.

BTW I am still waiting for 3 more Cd's of picture of the Mecca tour so I can finish my videos of the trip. If I don't have them by the end of the week, I am going to finish them without using any of the other pictures. Oh Well. Thanks again for getting the CD in the mail so quickly. You're the best. Geeee I just love to chat. I was chatting so much on the Sky forum that I came over here so I don't get into any trouble on the SKY forum. Jayman always is making me laugh. Long story. Hugs T.

Hey why don't you take 39 up to 7 then through Kent. Kent Falls is always a nice stop. I'm sure there will be many bikes out as well. Then go up through Lime Rock or Sharon CT over to Rt 22 in NY down to 84 and back to Danbury. Of course there are many country roads that can take you from 22 over into CT like RT 55 through Webatuck into Sherman and down 37 to Danbury. I think the traffic around the lake on Memorial Day weekend will be sloooow. Just a thought.

Publius,

Thanks, are you going to be able to join us on Sunday?

I thought of a few of those routes also however I was trying to keep the run under two hours. I know the lower section of Rte 7 has several stop lights but I have to admit it's been a while since I've been up the northern section, use to take the camper up to Twin Oaks in Kent many years ago.
I was also thinking Cornwall Bridge but I'm sure that will be a bottleneck this weekend and I knew Lime Rock had races this weekend (2008 Lime Rock Classic 250) but I just checked and nothing going on Sunday 25th.

Seeing as your from the area, I was planning to make one more attempt this Saturday to find some open road, are you available to run?

Hi Skyman,

Yes, I am planning to make the run on Sunday. I'm a member of GMRoadster and registered on the SNEKR site as well. Different screen name - Solster3231, most recent member. I joined this site before I had the car - thus the different name.

I'm not sure I can run on Saturday as I might be making a run on the Harley. I'll have to get back to you on that. See if you can get a copy of the "Official Motorcycle Map" from the Connecticut Riders Education Program. Ride4Ever.org - Connecticut's source for great motorcycle rides and safety information. I don't know if they have it on their site. It has some great scenic routes highlighted.

Update - I just checked the above link and they have an interactive map. It shows some nice roads to ride. See, Bikes and roadsters do have something in common - a love of the open road.

PubliusE (aka Solster3231),

Thanks, glad we got your screen name cleared up.

I knew about the Ride4Ever site however I admit I didn't check it out this time around. The interactive map is not that good, but the ride info is pretty accurate. I like the lastest Google maps with the stretch via points technology.

I understand about Saturday, it's always difficult to fit time in to play with all the toys! See ya on Sunday and thanks again for the suggestions.

P.S. Did you make the Bristol Bike run last weekend - had to be at least 1200 + riders?

Looks like I will be able to attend, just a thought "PubliusE (aka Solster3231)" route would also be of interest to everyone also. By the way Publius what is your color?

Hmmm? Your from NM also? I have a Cool (Silver) 2006. Did you buy your car from Park? I went into Park on the day the GM began accepting orders and was beat by someone who bought a black and someone who bought a red Soltice. I believe my was the second car they received.
