Had a great day! Rusty and I drove up from Maryland and watched the "top 32" run solo to try to get into the top 16. (Rusty had to leave at that point). My son Ryan and I went back over to the pit/vendor area and met up with lil goat and dengel. Really neat to see the pit areas. My son Ryan got to meet a few drivers Ryan Tuerck, Ken Gushi, and Dai Yoshihara, and a new driver who just had his 18th birthday.

3 Kappas in the top 16. Rhys Millen, of course (Solstice "GXP"), and Ryan Tuerck with a Solstice GXP that is the closest thing to "stock" on the track, and Darren McNamara with a right hand drive V8 "Sky".

Dai ended up 4th (Pontiac GTO), Rhys 3rd (Solstice GXP), Tyler McQuarrie 2nd (Porsche 993) and Tanner Foust 1st (Nissan 350Z).

Wanted to add a little more here. Ryan Tuerck's pit area had some tables set up under the shade, along with some snacks and drinks - and as hot as it was the drinks were very welcome, as we'd emptied the cooler we brought with us during the top 32. It was great for my son to meet several racers, and you get a real good look at the pit crews working on the cars. They like to talk to the fans too, a real up close experience.

The guys over at RMR were great too. We met quite a few crew members and Dai, and hung out there with lilgoat and dengel for awhile. We missed Rhys, he was coolin' it in the trailer, but it was great to see him drive.
