Thanks to Mike...the plant manager, the UAW rep, the corporate participants from GM Detroit....it was a special day to see how this roadster is built...to view some of the special release cars that are coming...and to actually see the coupe in aggressive, mean, and cool. and be able to climb all over it..especially the NY auto show coupe...as well as the new colors that will be released on the solstices and skys.......great giveaways, goodie bags, and a nice raffle for a variety of items by the plant staff....

a special thanks to the line workers.....some of whom came off the line to talk to us during the tours, answer are questions and thank us for our support of their great car......a great day had by all......

MECCA II - The Official GM Thank You!

Here it is folk the thread to tell all the great people at GM and the UAW just how much we appreciate what they did for us on Friday. The weather might not have been the best but the tour sure was! Don't forget to tell them how much you loved the events like the TLC tent, the SWE, the woman's lounge with the extra pampering that the ladies got, the gift bag, the quality showcase oh and let's not forget the tour it self as well. Ramble on all you want heck even gush if you must!

It was great. Everyone was talking about how much they enjoyed it and loved all the things they provided like the women's lounge and the SWE. There were a couple of the owners who are not registered but they said they loved every minute of the tour and all the products and sneak peek at some of the things that were coming out later on.
Once again, General Motors, Pontiac, and Saturn; thank you for all of the wonder work and care for all of the little details that make our "Pride and Joy"

Really enjoyed the tour. Thank you Mike, all the workers at the plant involved with organizing MECCA II, the UAW, and especially GM.

Again, GM has demonstrated that they are willing to walk the talk by interacting and listening to what the consumer wants. I also want to thank GM for the special gifts. I shall treasure them forever.

The only better way to top this years reunion would be to have Robert Lutz, "THE MAN" himself there next year. Hope we have better weather too.

Again, thanks for my '06 Solstice Z0K and everything. You've all brought some spirit back to my aging sol.

What else can I say that wasn't said before, it was all great and both myself and Inge want to thank all involved for this great event. Maybe next year after the spring showers turn to hot dry summer and after the summer shutdown and the 2010's are rolling on the AGC's we can have a MECCA reunion tour III. Imagine the GM parking lot with a couple hundred kappas all parked with their top stowed!

Wow, wow, wow. So when does the paper work go out for next year!!!??? Sign us up now. Mike and GM did and outstanding job. I think Mike may have cloned himself for this weekend because everywhere you looked there he was. The weather may not have been the greatest but the people on this trip more than made up for it. Can't wait to see all the pics everyone took!!! ~Paula

.To General Motors, Mike, and all involved, this was an incredible tour.
Thanks for putting this together, having us again, and showing us a great time.

. Last years tour was hard to top but you did it.
This year it was more fun, more hands on, and more informative.
Having tech's everywhere to bounce questions off of was great.
And not one but four coupes to look at, sit in, crawl under and drool over. Wow, how sweet.
Did anyone else notice the silver coupe had black masked headlights?

. The new paint colors coming out are awesome.
A wine and two different blues all with tons of metal flake.
As well as the nice graphics on SCCA SSB Champion Edition and T2 Champion Edition cars.

. The TLC tent was nonstop all day long.
Did every single one of us pull into the tent or what!
A Big Thanks to everyone outside working to tweak everyone's car.
I know I went in for a top latch adjustment and pulled out with three other things fixed.
The crew out there was trully unbelievable! Thank you. Thank you very much!

. Ah, the drift cars.
The adjustable chrome molly upper control arms and rear links with hiem joints.
Now that was pretty cool.
I can't count the times I walked back and forth from the drift cars and the Setup Built By Thugs race car.
Then back to the bodyless static display again to see how they made the changes to the race prep cars.

. But my hat is off to the people who build our cars.
They are just as proud of building our Sol's and Sky's as we are owning them.
And it shows.
I'm local to many of the men and women that build our cars.
When our paths happen to cross they always ask "How is the Solstice?"
"I welded your frame", "I built the header", "I'm in trim." "I'm glad you enjoy it and thanks for buying one."

. I would like to say to everyone that works at Boxwood.
.. "Thank you for building mine."
.
.

Everything I wanted to say has been said, but the bottom line is thank you so much; Mike, UAW, GM, the massage and facial people who made it a wonderful experience for my wife as well as myself.

My only complaint was the new color wicked for the solstice. I now either have to buy a second solstice (actually it would be my third) or talk Joe into painting our cars. Wow, what a great color. I love it.

WOW, what a fantastic time. Thanks so much to organizers. Thank you to GM, the UAW and Justmike, Solli4me, Dengel, MomsSol, and others I may not have mentioned. The Thursday night dinner was terriffic, the plant tour and gifts were awsome. It was great seeing the new Coupes and the new Wicked paint for the sol, Love it. There was so much stuff to do and see that the day just buzzed by.
