Skyman- looking at the route (and since I've lived in NE CT all my life), instead of going 169 north from woodstock into southbridge, it might be a more interesting ride if we go 169N into woodstock, left on 171, right on 198 which takes us into the center of southbridge. Or even better, 169 to a left on 197S to a right on 198. 197 is fun to drive.
On our way back we could do 169S out of southbridge to 197N to 131. 131 from southbridge to quinnebaug is pretty un-scenic, in my opinion.
I'm trying to make google maps show the route I want, but it's being dumb. It's pretty simple if you look at a map though.
Or you can tell me you know what you're doing and I should butt out.
EDIT: Here's the first route I was talking about: Google Map.
Thanks for the input, I'll have to take more time to look at it when I get the time.
I've found in the past the fewer route changes made makes it easier to keep everyone together.
However seeing as this is your part of the state and the sign-up list is not to large, if you want to take the lead I have no problem taking sweeper position.
I'll still give it consideration either way as I love a good ride.
I'll have three Motorola 2-way radio's with for communication between lead, middle and sweep cars.
I'm in the process of putting together handouts now, so let me know soon as I'll need a couple days to print & bind?

I'd be happy to lead. The only problem I could forsee with that is I'm probably going to be going solo, no woman and all my friends happen to be working. I'll see if I can find a copilot before the event.
It's pretty straight foward, though, and I can take it easy so as to facilitate people not getting lost. (65 on back roads that nobody but me knows probably wouldn't do well in that regard.)

Anyhow, let me know.
Ok,
Although I normally program the route in my GPS, I find I rarely use it when I'm leading because one detour and it will try to re-route you anyway other than where you want to go, just ask anyone who followed me a MECCAII when I got stuck in the lead in unfamilar territory.
Also my wife gave up a long time ago being my co-pilot, she doesn't want to be blamed for being wrong, not that I've ever done that to her?
I'll get back to you, if I get time to head over and check it out myself this Saturday I'll feel more comfortable taking the lead otherwise I'll plan on handing it over to you.
I'll let you know for sure by Sunday evening. (21st)

The meeting location for the start of Saturday's Tri-State run is definately Mohegan Sun at 10:00 AM.
We plan on getting underway by no later than 11:00 AM.
This should give everyone plenty of time for Meet & Greet, Bathroom Stops and any Detailing people want to do.
Take note for those who have attended previous SNEKR events at Mohegan Sun:
The Winter Garage that we have meet at in the past has been removed for the new hotel construction. We will therefore meet on the top of the Indian Summer Garage, X marks the spot. .
Make sure you have a full tank of gas, I would suggest getting it before entering Mohegan Sun property as they jack up the price on the reservation.
On the location map please also take note of the Riverview Garage because we may park there in the evening when we return to go to the Sunburst Buffet in the Casino of the Sky. Sheryl Crow will be in concert Saturday night at 8:00PM so we'll do our best to determine the best isolated parking area when we arrive back.

Just in case any last minute attendees missed this one.
See you at the top of the Indian Summer Garage tomorrow.
I'm going to call in final headcount to Picadilly's in morning - based on those that have signed up I've estimatied 15 at dinner for now - if you coming please PM or post today.
Weather is looking pretty good for tomorrow but Sunday will most likely be a bust unless I get a favorable response on Saturday.
