Well, thats a couple days that are blazed in our memory. Fabulous summer day at Thee track of tracks. Thanks Excelsior for the idea and follow up. Phantom nice pics.. and nice meeting the 7 other cars there. Saw a 9th, yellow GXP, but that was it compared to 100 Corvettes, almost as many Porsches and Mustangs. We truly do have a collectors car now..
The run as a first timer had the thrills. A part of the track called the boot was opened up which took advantage of the entire 3+ mile track. Cones were set up to judge your turns at enter, apex and exit. 60+ mph seems tame, but it gave you the feel and if you hit the tight turns right, it wasn't much slower than the big boys might pass trough a turn or two. But, trying to imagine the high speed turns really boggles the mind. At least my little block head anyway. The place reeked of history too.
Couple of the Donohue cars were just awesome. The Lola in particular was my favorite. Some had a great idea of playing taps over the loud speaker during our run....
Sitting in town having a bite to eat after the run was almost like being at the track.. all the cars from after their runs would pass by. And , nuts we left home w/o the camera..had a couple cell phones, so I will see how those download.
Frank, video soon?
Great day and thanks again from the jersey gxp. We might hit the vintage car weekend in September..
