Wilmington Employees Rock!!!!! Thank You

I wanted to start a thread that thanked the employees with pictures. Separate from all our wonderful weekend pics. I feel they deserve a thread only to them.
This was my first trip to Mecca, It was truly wonderful but here I want to praise just the Plant employee's. The welcome that we got was tremendous, the open arms from all the staff and line workers. As I sat in the morning address to the group I felt awe in the fact that in front of me was banners of past cars....I own a 67 Impala rag top, made at that plant for CANADA, I am as proud of that wonderful car as I am of my Sky, which was one of the first groups sent to CANADA. WHAT made me have tears in my eyes all day was the employees out in the parking lot, working in the heat of the sun making every car they could in better shape then when they drove in that morning. I spent hours watching and taking shot after shot of the finesse of the gentleman pulling out dings in cars, it was perfection of an art form that I hope will not be lost in the future. The employee that was doing the amazing touch ups on the paint chips, touching and buffing until you never knew there had been a chip. The employees that worked hours on trunk alignments and window adjustments. The employees who spent a lot of time on my car trying to get the top to close with less stress and the pinching of the top. The group that worked on a car fixing the door panels.
There is an art form to all that they did, I took shots that showed all of this and I just want to share with this forum. I thank you all Employees of the Wilmington Plant, our hearts are with you in all the uncertainty but do know this..... WE LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE MADE FOR US and will be forever THANKFUL

Great post!

Wow! That truly is amazing work. We are all very lucky to have such fine caring craftsmen build our cars.

Hey, if we get enough people to buy the plant, those guys are hired!

Yup, the Wilmington employees are the best!

I hope GM finds a way to keep Wilmington and the Kappa going after the Pontiac brand is done. Like perhaps make the Kappa an entry level Chevy Corvette. They could even give it hybrid or even a diesel option?

Thanks again to all who work at Wilmington. You are the Best!!

Very appropriate Ms. CHILLI

The swelling in my head is about gone from a visit with some engineers and "another" guy in the parking lot.

The Wilmington employees deserve to continue making KAPPAS.

I wasnt able to make it this year but I did attend last year. Since I got my Sky I always had a squeek in the front breaks for about 30 second until they warmed up. The designers and engineers listened to my issue and even went out to the parking lot and drove it. I was impressed when he crawled under it with his good clothes to try and resolve it. Although it still squeaks I was impressed by thier efforts. Most impressive thing was it rained last year and everything was wet but he still got under it. They are truly a class act up there!

Chili, really nice job with the photo-log of how the Wilmington people care for these cars as much as we do as owners. Congrats on jobs well done and a big thanks go to all of them.
