Unfortunately we are back to square one in choosing a resort. Barefoot Resort shot themselves in the foot when we looked over the contract. Too many hidden costs in there that they failed to mention at our meeting.
I'll keep you informed.

Deal with lots of contracts so take this for what it is worth .... most times I consider the language in a contract as the opening negotiation and highlight areas that seem out of place and then see if they are open to discussions before assuming that it is a take it or leave it offer ... your mileage may vary

If it makes you feel at home, I can bring a couple of my LI buddys; DAMN Yankees, they came and forgot to go back.
As for food, how does a good fashion SC pigpicking sound to you? And yes, party is our middle names. That's why ya'll get confused and think we are all related.

Costs are always negotiable - especially when you explain the amount of $$s you will be bringing into their resort just in room rates alone. For example - never pay extra for reception or dining rooms ... these should be part of your package.
Cash bars ..... see if bartender fees can be waived if you sell a specified $$ amount of beverages.
BTW .... all contracts will always contain services fees and taxes - figure up to 22% on service fees and then local taxes on top of that. These are not 'hidden fees' they are standard on any contract when dealing with a resort or hotel or restaurant.
Don't give up on the Barefoot just yet ... go back and negotiate ... they might 'give a little'.
HTH!

Yes, Mike it is a long way out. 20 months, But we didn't want to conflict with anyone else's plans for a meet and frankly we are so disorganized we need all the time to put this together.
You will make 54 cars so far, we are shooting for at least 100. Hopefully more. Want to PM me with your state so I can post it?
Glad to have you,
Joe
