The planning committee has been working hard to get your fee's down this year due to so many employer cutbacks and we understand the hardships this has put on so many people. With this being said we have made some hard decisions. We will not be having food with the Registration on Thursday night and we have Lanyard's with Badge Holders which were donated. This is a saving of 35.00.
The planning commitee will be covering some of the cost this year and we are not including any donations to SGK. We will be accepting donations at registration and also at the Event Dinner. Registration will be held at the Lodge Downstairs (time tba). ChiliSky and myself will be hosting evening activities Thursday and ChiliSky has a surprise for Friday Evening.
Please make your checks payable and mail to :

ChiliSky and myself will be at the Regional Meet at Myrtle Beach and also at T2TR. We will be happy to collect your fee at that time if that is convenient for you we will also have registration forms and waivers. Look for us.....
The primary reason, well, I guess this is as good a time as any. I'll be stepping back to a more "advisory and help" role. I'm stepping down completely after this year with the Dragon event. I've not been around the forums much, many things in life pulling me away. This event deserves better than that, deserves somebody who can better maintain it. The others in the committee will take on other things where needed.
An advice to others wanting to take on something like this: Be prepared to give everything you have towards the goal, and have the time to do so. If not, it won't be pretty.
I enjoyed helping smartin set up the first run in 2006. After that, I felt in my gut, this community needed a presence at the Dragon. I took it on myself with pursuit's help to start setting up a weekend gathering. Thankfully where needed, appygirl and KYGXP stepped up and participated. Preparing for this year, the other Kims stepped in, and the event began to take a life of its own. With current situations, I found myself being able to devote less and less time and energy. With the current committee in place and the energy they have, I know the event will continue. It's time forme to step down. In the future I hope to attend the events to come, but only as another attendee.
Thank you to everyone who has come to the event over the years. You have given me memories that I will always keep. The one memory that may personify a sense of accomplishment in building this is in 2007 after we had all come off the Dragon, Daywalker and the yellow sky that accompanied him(sorry, the name escapes me, had just come off the Dragon whlie many of us were stopped at the Crossroads at TOTD store and Deals Gap. Daywalker and his guest did a U in the intersection and went right back on the Dragon!!! That I guess symbolizes to me everything I hoped to do.
God bless,
Lee
Lee,
just a thanks from myself and UNEED2 for your efforts over the past several events.......your passion and energy were evident and brought the Kappa community to the dragon......we have now made three trips to the dragon and enjoyed them immensely each time....meeting and making new friends each and every time,m unfortunately we cant make this years event as other things are taking priority....understand the need to step down and handle what life throws at us......and yes....handling an event like this takes a great deal of your personal time and energy........so job well done my friend.....

You all KNOW how much Wayne and I want to be at this one....and then he got laid off....and then us civil servants were told about furlough days...so all plans came to a screeching halt. Within 24 hours of Wayne getting a new job he was looking ta me saying "wanna do the Tail??" How In The World Could I Say No?? So - We're IN! Registration money is on it's way and the room has bene reserved. Dog care is almost all arranged and my time off request will go in tomorrow (since there will now only be 2 of us covering the entire county - my coworker is gonna be Ticked! Oh well, she can retire if she don't like it! lol!!)
So beware my friends, the Roots are gonna come and join the insanity!
