BOAT RIDE: The boat ride is 90 minutes, covers 2 miles down the canal and ½ mile out onto the prairie.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: An 8-mile Swamp Island Drive, canoe rental, the award winning film at the Visitor’s Center, the Chesser Island Homestead, the ¾ mile boardwalk which ends at the 50-foot observation tower and numerous nature trails.

RETURN TO MACCLENNY: For those interested - evening meal at Pier 6 Seafood.

DIRECTIONS TO MACCLENNY: From Jacksonville take I-10 West to exit 335. This is the second Macclenny exit. At the stop sign, turn left, North on SR 121. Landmarks are the Wendys on the right, Hardees on the left.

At Willis Hodge Road (landmark: McDonalds on right and Winn Dixie on left), turn left into Cornerstone Square. Turn right into the shopping area. Landmark is the Food Lion grocery store. We will be at the North end of the parking lot, by the “old Wal-Mart.”
