Kappa Memorial Day For NELLIE Sept.19th
It has taken me some time to get this all worked out.
We who were all at the Tail Of The Dragon were hit very hard by the death of Nellie Tubbs. Her smile just radiated into your very soul the moment she turned and looked at you. None of us have been able to move forward with this terrible loss because we all had to leave each other hours after her accident and have not had closure.
We must move forward and we must heal, Nellie would not want anyone of us languishing in the pain we still feel. This being said, we will meet in our beloved State of Kentucky, a place most of us feel the peace and contentment of the beautiful bluegrass fields, and miles of white fence and horses. It is a peaceful state and one where I know we can join as a group, share our pain and leave the grief there to dissipate in the deep blue grasses of the meadows and start rejoicing in her life instead of mourning it.
I have spoken with the Holiday Inn Lexington North, they have always been helpful to us and they have blocked a section of rooms for us with a discounted rate of $78.00 per night. Just mention that is with the Kappa Club and if you stayed there last year during the SEM meet they will have your information.
Most of us will get there Friday night, eat dinner there or one of our favorite places and Saturday we will caravan to the Natural Bridge to hold our memorial service for Nellie.
I understand it might be hard for some to get the time off or their feelings are still to raw to come, that is all okay.
If anyone that can not go would like me to say something on their behalf all you have to do is PM it too me and I would be honored to read it.
Afterward we will caravan back to the hotel to relax and later have dinner in the hotel restaurant.
I have opened the invitation to Nellie's family who live more than 7 hours away and it might be too hard for them to be there because of the distance.
This is also open to any forum member that would like to attend. I would remind people coming this is not to discuss the accident in any detail. This is a memorial service and a rejoicing of this wonderful lady.
The time for the memorial has not been set yet, I would like to give people that are traveling on Saturday time to meet up with us...I will post the time here.
Please let us know if you are coming by just adding your name below and when you plan to arrive or PM me

Of course I will be there.... that is a given.....
I am working on the route that we will take to Natural Bridge for the Memorial. If you are unable to join us please post or pm me or ChiliSky if you would like for us to say something on your behalf.
If you are planning on joining us for this and you need a hotel please reserve before the 10th...... that is when they are releasing the rooms. There is a big game in Lexington that weekend and you would be very lucky to find any rooms.... The hotel went out of their way to get us this small block of rooms and only 3 of them are taken.
Also if you are coming in early on Friday and would like to do the Bourbon Run I would be happy to lead that of course I will have to ride with someone as my car will be getting the Deer Damage fixed. So I will need to know in order to reserve us somewhere for lunch....
The Bourbon Run (No Samples) is just a beautiful road with some twisty but mostly nice rolling roads with horse farms which visits 3 distilleries in the area. This has to be one of the nicest runs around here just breath-takin. Leaving from the Hotel at 1:00 Time to run will be just at 3 hours.....
Friday Afternoon Run....

On Sat we will be leaving from the Hotel late morning to give those coming in enough time to relax before heading out again. We will drive down to Natural Bridge using the interstate for 90% getting off in time to drive through the Nada Tunnel and drive through the park. Arriving at the chair lift to take us to the top were we will Honor Nellie by releasing Wildflower Seed from the Natural Bridge while we are saying goodbyes. Afterwards we will be going to lunch tba then back to the hotel using some nice relaxing roads.
If you are able to join us please do as everyone is welcome.

Just a heads up, I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the University of Louisville vs University of Kentucky football game (biggest game of the year, statewide) is also on the 19th. In Lexington. The city and highways are going to be very packed that weekend, with people traveling from all over the state.
Plan in advance, and avoid any part of the city surrounding the stadium. In my opinion.
