Ok folks all of our plans are in place and we can now start booking our rooms.

Our group rate is $89.00 per night.

This rate is available to us for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There are 18 double queen rooms and 2 king rooms available.
This rate also includes a hot breakfast buffet and managers reception Friday and Saturday from 5-7pm.

For lunch we will be again going to Backus Pontiac. They will be graciously serving us.

For dinner Saturday evening we will be going to Paula Deen's, The Lady and Sons.
Our reservations are for 8:00pm.

This will be a buffet style dinner and payment is due in advance. The cost of the dinner is $26.00 per person and includes, buffet, refillable non-alcoholic beverage and gratuity. Beer, wine and liquor beverages will be served and billed individually.

Last year was my first Solstice Gathering and I am so blessed with such wonderful friends and now family that I met there.

Thanks for setting the meet up and the hotel looks very nice. It looks like it is close to downtown and that area normally runs ~$110 a night. We are doing most of the event in the Savannah area, so this location will be great.

BTW, I ate at Paula's place before I went to Iraq in 2005 and the food is great. If you like Southern Food, then you will enjoy her place. The wait can be up to 3 hours, so reservations are a must. I believe the building is 3 stories tall and most of the waiters are SCAD (Savannah Art and Design) students. They sometimes sing and the rooms are big enough to accommodate our large group.

Funny ... I just used the GAKAPA Code online and it said "no rooms" ... so I took off the code and it showed my a 2 queen bed room for $79 a night. hmmmmm

No discount, but the only catch with the $79 rate is that it is non refundable. For $86 the have a "Deluxe" listed (has furniture?).

I just registered and got the $77 a night Military Rate So I saved $24 ... almost enough to cover dinner.

Sadly I will miss this event. I deploy in less than three weeks. Hopefully I can catch something next year as I will only be deployed for about six months.

There will be plenty of runs in the future, stay safe. Hopefully your time will go by fast ... on a positive note, at least it is not 15 months like 3rd ID.
